I was just wondering what percentage of you would like the site to have a fixed width, instead of stretching to the size of your monitor.

Please vote in the poll and let me know what resolution you run as well. I am currently using a 19" 5:4 and it looks fine, but on widescreen monitors the site does look far too stretched in my opinion.

Obviously, if we did decide to change the site there would be a certain amount of tweaking involved to make it look right, but that would be sorted out at a later date.

I have a 24" as you know, and though it is kinda stretched, I couldn't care less tbh.

Making it fixed would mean having the width less than 1280px which would probably look worse on my monitor.

Fixed would mean less that 1024 most likely instead of 1280, there are still a few people who use 15" monitors.

I'm using a 19" 16:9 and it looks perfect in my opinion other than the post area being slightly overstretched.

I say keep it stretched as if it's fixed it would have to be over 1280 to make it look bearable on a wide-screen, however under 1024 for those who are on a budget.

Looks fine to me, I run a sort-of widescreen 1280, maybe you could make an option or something if you do change it

Gotta say I agree with Oric here. It shud stay stretchy - i have to use it on 1024x768, 1680x1050, 1280x1024 and 1280x800 most days so i like the stretching xD

Fixed width can make a website look a LOT better but still 16:10 aspect ratio says no to fixed width from me.

I asked a tree, it said no.

Looks like it staying the same way then judging by the poll results. Fixed would be good but due to the immense range of resolutions used it's just not really an option.

16:10 actually xD.

I would have thought any 22" at 1680*1050 was 16:9

Just look at the numbers.

16:10 x 105 = 1680:1050

Widescreen monitors are 16:10, widescreen TVs are 16:9.

Well the monitor must have scaled then since every 22" ive had was 16:9 aspect ratio and the tablet 1440*900 was 16:10 and my 24" is 16:10.

:S

Mines a TV/Monitor, and it even says 'Adjusting for 1680x1050, 16:9' when I change to a lower resolution (:

Every single ad ive seen for a 1680*1050 22" monitor says there 16:9.

SLIGHTLY OFF-TOPIC:
Btw, is it just me or does the website sometimes take ages to load?

COMPLETELY OFF-TOPIC:
Haha, you call that a widescreen Phantom? I Plug my computer's visual into my TV (about 32 inches) x3

VH, you have a point, it takes me a few seconds sometimes to load it up. And before you go on a tirade anyone, all the other sites I check are just fine.

Never had that problem tbh webpage is a tad slow but thats just all the plugins loading but it never stops loading for me.

If heavy webpage's cut out half way its normally your line is not stable enough to keep flashing along the packets for a really big site. I used to have it all the time on BT broadband.
