The first less expensive one will and the second one will struggle.

but I'd advise agaisnt Advent as every peice they can cheap out on they do since its PCWORLD's own brand.

expect a failure within a year, this sounds like a rash generalisation but its really not the brand really is dire.

Had good fun today with someone trying to convince me that PC World were good, and that he was showed a gaming computer with the "latest" graphics card by them. This was not the new 4-series by ATI or even the GTX series by nVidia, it was the 9800GTX, not even the 9800GTX+.

But yeah, with an 8400M GPU the first one should do it just. You'd be better off building yourself a PC for that money, use the same spec as Chaz.

How anyone can think PC World is good is beyond me (well acually I can, and that's why they are so big).

Anyway Tom, why exactly do you want a laptop to play L4D on?

Well my mum said I need to get a laptop for six form and uni so I thought I might as well get one that could play L4D :o.

So should I buy the first one or will it just break ?

You don't need a laptop for 6th form, so wait until you go to Uni then get something like an ASUS Eee PC for taking to lectures and stuff, and buy a cheapish gaming tower now that will play anything twice as well as any laptop for the same price, and take that to uni to keep in your room.
