Windows Server - Help

Ive tried a heyho! copy of 2003 Enterprise edition and when i tried to get AD to work it continually failed with error 4001 (something to do with the DNS) - though it isnt anything to do with the DNS as it wont even install now. I decided this was down to it being a damaged heyho! or somthing, and downlaoded server 08 direct from microsoft. This worked perfectly untill i installed Active Directory. the install goes fine but after it restarts itll never get back into widows. Itll do the loading bar, then load the black screen with the cursor, then restart. Also safe mode does the same thing, so i have to reinstall - again. Any ideas how to make it work?

Okay ive got it to work - you wont believe what the problem was - and nor do I.... if i install server onto my 2TB raid 0 array it creates that error - if i dont it works fine... :S:S
