Reasons to grab out the game again !

As time passed, many new tools and mods got developed which opened a bunch of new possibilities in Freelancer.

Autobuy, Credittransfer & more
Through the in 2006 introduced server tool called FLHook many server-side features got added, for example:
- Ammo-rebuy everytime you spawn or dock at a base,
- Credit transfers through whole sirius
- ...

Player cloaking and undocking from player-controlled battleships!
Through FLHook it is now possible to cloak with some specify ships (depending on the modification) and to undock from player-controlled battleships!!

Webinterfaces !
It is possible to connect your ingame characters to forums account and webinterfaces, here is the FlSES-Webinterface (Browser-Interface) as an example:

The webinterface features:
- Connect your chars to the webinterface
- Mark your characters as clancharacters
- Bank and transfer credits
- clan leaders can write news for their members
- deposit your weapons to the save place (virtual equipment depots)


Breakthrough of the 128 max. players limit !!
Meanwhile we managed to passed through the max. player limit of Freelancer, for instance, the discovery server is running with (205+) players in peak times.

Yeah I don't see much of a problem, I don't think i've ever played a space sim so might be worth trying out the trial. I think DE's getting at the fact that this is your first post in the community and it looks like a copy pasted advertisement for the game.

Freelancer, been there, run with the IMMYs, saw the multiplayer servers die.

Although before the MP servers died I would have given this game a beagle call.. it's not much use having to find a server's IP address, putting it in the HTML file and loading the game..

Uhh, these are ones I remember most recently:

Lorex/Lycan/Vicious/*Gamma*/Tygr/Atom/BaneBlade/WRAiTH/Shova.

I've been around a while, made quite a few enemies while I've been at it, if any of them ring a bell let me know XD

EVE is nothing like Freelancer, it's about 20x better.

Well...Freelancer is unique in my eyes, and totally different from EVE (I don't want to compare those games against each other, also because this ISN'T possible). For instance, EVE is very much more RTS/RPG-based. You might want to try out the trial version. ;)

Yeah, I can't see my own server/any server in LAN, or Internet (obviously the latter) on Vista, I googled to no avail, you know a fix? I want to go back to running IONCROSS modded ships XD

Try to uninstall any Firewall and antivirus (except avira) for a test. Some antivirus are known to make troubles at vista.

You could check your machine for rests of an antivirus, might be left from the programm (Just had such an issue lately with a FL player)
