Anyone who has it and feels like a game at some point or another

If you don't have it, it's fairly easy to *find*, and it'll work on a bloody notebook, so no one has any excuse not to have it, even you Uni folks :D

It's a great little game and I'm sure alot of us have fond memories of the game
(first game I ever played multiplayer, and I was taught by my neighbor about how to play it properly)

And it looks like at least a few of us are up for a game or two at some point.

The whole point is its none of us know AOE1 very well anymore. this was suppsoed to be for the competition thing and everybody decided having a competition thats skill based was unfair for some reason.

Yes tis and awesome game, i actually think i have the original disks somewhere, but more likely they dnt work anymore so i will "acquire" it :P

I'd enjoy playing this again, but I'd have to get it somehow as my disks are are home. I think I had the conquers expansion as well :).

Anyone play Age of Mythology and titans they were pretty good expansions. It just got silly when they introduced guns :D

The Conqurers expansion is for AoE 2 chalex.

The AoE1 expansion is Rise of Rome.

Seriously just downlaod it - its like 250MB

Been so long that I have played it that I forgot,

Rise of rome is a standalone
AOE is the original just patch (latest 1.0c) that because thats what were playing, sorry for the confusion.

Just sorts out online play really easily and most connection problems vanish, sort of a higher level hamachi with a friends list and auto join game feature.

In other news, me and Phant played a 1 on 1 yesterday, and both decided that AOE2 was MUCH better.

AOE2 requires more micro if anything. Tt's on a much larger scale to the original, at a faster pace...

The original is a bit silly though, priests capturing stuff from 999 range makes the game turn into just a holy war.
