For university, since I only use my headset for when i'm on vent/ts nowadays, I listen to almost everything through my 10 year old stereo logitech speakers. I am looking for a 2.1 set and am willing to spend up to ~£60 to get some really nice quality. I have absolutely no knowledge with this so I was hoping somebody could push me in the right direction.

EDIT: Oh and it has to be an aux connection so I can plug it into my sound card.

By aux connection do you mean the single 3.5mm connection or dual RCA plugs?

These are standard 3.5mm afaik, although they are only 2.0 as opposed to 2.1, but the general consensus of these and the T40's (Their bigger brothers) are that they are generally pretty awesome. Would grab a pair myself if I didn't have another setup in the works (Thread will follow when it's complete :p)

Edit: This review (http://www.trustedreviews.com/multimedia/review/2007/04/19/Creative-GigaWorks-T20-2-0-Speakers/p1) raves about them. Take not of the point regarding poor bass crossover and overpowering subs in 2.1 setups, exactly the reason I generally dislike subs.

Close thread please, those look perfect.

EDIT: There's a review for these speakers (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-041-LG&tool=3) saying, "Used to have Creative T20's and these are MUCH better in terms of high-end detail, low-end solidity and stereo imaging."

Get 5.1!! Nah, those logitech speakers look great Phantom. The screen also looks like a funky feature, but I don't know how useful it would be as I don't generally look at my speakers :p.

Just realized the Logitech ones are USB, which wouldn't work with the sound card. The screen and media controls are also pretty pointless as I have them on my keyboard (well, not the screen but I generally know/dont care the name of the song i'm listening to).

Completely forgot about the Z-10s haha! They have a 3.5mm in for use with a soundcard, but then you don't get the screen display, and I'm not sure if the controls would still work (It's the same screen as on the G15 and Z-5500's and I'm not sure if the volume control would adjust volume through Windows volume like the G15 (Admittedly it's a keyboard, but the principal is still the same), or whether it would manage it itself)

Your call, personally I'd go for the T20's (Or save extra and buy the T40's (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-116-CL)) but the Z-10's still look like a good buy, however bear in mind that some of the cost of them will be for the screen and USB DAC, so they hold better value for money if you don't have a soundcard and can make use of the DAC, although the one on your X-Fi should be of superior quality.
