View Full Version : The 2010 Official ATK Best Band Poll Series - Nominations and Preview

Isphera
26th February 2010, 01:56 PM
Nomination rules are very simple:

You are allowed a maximum of FOUR bands. You can have less than this, but the max is four.
There are NO community consensus picks
A band can only be nominated once, so please read the list before posting your nominations
Please also put the genre of the band next to the name in your post.
As with the DWPS, I will link each name to a song by each band. To nominate which song, please include that in your nomination post as well. If no song is provided, I will select one at random
Rick Astley is banned.
Please help me keep this thread clean, and put ALL conversation in the open discussion thread.

Please also format your nomination posts like so (these are my nominations):

Breaking Benjamin - Alt Rock/Post-Grunge
Chevelle - Alt Rock/Post-Grunge
Three Days Grace - Alt Rock/Post-Grunge
Nickelback - Hard Rock/Alt Metal

So nominate away!

Thin lizzy-short life in band terms but pure awesome
Hendrix- He played everything in a couple songs so the nomination is correct

I'm still working on the other two.

It's a fair nom ez for Hendrix: 'Band' in this context encompasses solo artists with the backing band. If you wanted, you could nominate Serj Tankian on solo merit and then SoaD as well.

Chazlene
26th February 2010, 04:30 PM
Queen - Rock/Glam Rock - Song: I Want It All.

The Rolling Stones - Rock/Rock and Roll/Rhythm and Blues/Blues - Song: Gimme Shelter.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Hard Rock/Southern Rock/Boogie Rock/Blues Rock - Song: Freebird.

The Clash - Punk Rock - Song: Should I Stay Or Should I Go.

Daymn it's hard choosing a song that sums up a band... definitely gonna post extra videos with the actual polls.

Fair as well for solo artist and back group but Hendrix literally played every instrument one by one for the studio version of all along the watchtower and might have done a few others.

Why not just do best song?

Does anyone actually fucking read threads anymore. I've said already that this is a reference point for the band for people to look at. In the poll threads, you can post as many songs as you want. I just need one to go at the top of the poll when I create it. If you don't like the way that I do this, then simply don't post anything, log out and fuck off, because I'm doing this for a bit of fun and for people to discover some other types of music they may not have listened to before. Any problems - feel free to write them down and then eat them, because I sure as hell won't read them.

EDIT - And one final thing, you keep calling the DWPS the "best tits poll". I would like to point out that the winner, Evangeline Lilly was a 34B, and the runners up, Eve Wyrwal and Kaley Cuoco are 32F and 32C respectively.

The fact that you know this is more than a little creepy dude.

Sorry oric, just assumed since you were putting the links into the names on the first post, there was only going to be one song to represent them. Easy mistake.

Changed over. Sorry about the facerape - didn't know it was meant to be quotes. Removed the comment.

EDIT2 - This bracket is now defunct, due to poplar demand for entries.
EDIT - The first round is decided, all additional entries up you 48 will have a bye to the next round. Any entries after 48 to 64, and I'll figure a way of sorting it. As usual, all matches were generated with a random number generator, and I have no control on who faces who. And before anyone says it's a fix that BB get a bye, please note that my other three are against three of the most popular nominations.
