So, I unpacked last night at home and set my computer back up only to find out that the left button on my G5 has stopped working, it was about time for an upgrade anyway as the wheel on that mouse is terrible.

Preferably I'd like something similar in size to the G5, I'm more of a palm user than a finger tip only user, so I don't mind something chunky.

I'll probably go for the MX518 as it's same shape and has great reviews, but I just thought i'd post in case somebody has any suggestions.

Did you have the G5 with 2 side buttons? I use that one and it's still awesome.

Roccat Kone / MX518 I'd say.

MX-518 or G500 (Or G9x if you feel like splashing out) or go for some Razer stuff if you fancy a change.

Could be worth a shot trying an RMA on the mouse though, if it gets acception you've got yourself a G500 for free :)

The G5 is over 2 years old, could give it a try but hardly worth the effort. The Roccat Kone has got some pretty bad reviews on OcUK. I've been looking at this Coolermaster mouse (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-001-CM&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=1257), reviews are good and it look really nice and comfy the only thing putting me off is that it's made by Coolermaster.

This Razer mouse (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-045-RA&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=1257) looks like it would be good but it is expensive and there aren't any reviews.

Razer Deathadder (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-043-RA&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=1257)?

What mouse did Oric go for?

Nah too small, I like the ones that fit in your palm.

I went for the Razer Lachesis, it's one of the larger in the range of Razer mouses, and is actually a little bit big for my hands, which are a tad smaller than the average size (only part of me that is though :S). I would recommend all of the Razer stuff very very highly.

Weren't you one of the people who slammed me for talking about getting that mouse a few months ago Phantom?

But I would recommend it, I had the chance to try it out a while ago, it's more of a show-off mouse than pure gaming tech, but still a rather good mouse.

the razers are the most sensitive but tbh who needs 5400 dpi..... its not gunna make any difference over 1000 dpi - my mouse goes up to 2k dpi and i only use it on 800 and other than movement speed the accuracy is exactly the same

yeh are mice are pretty good i actually use myn on 2000 and it works well but im not sure about the shape, although im use to it now...and the razer are the most expensive by a long way but quite like em, although you cant really tell if u will like a mouse or not until you hold it. Btw have you felt the difference in weight between a g5 and mx 518, its like the g5 is made of lead

Target, you can change the weight of the G5. I like mine light so have just put 2 x 1.7g weights in the cartridge.

Which mouse was that?

I'm currently hoping that I can get my G5 replaced for free for a new G500 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-176-LG) which would be freaking awesome.

TBH even if I don't get the replacement I might just buy a G500, it's perfect.

Hmm, I don't remember seeing that mouse before now.

Anyway, WINRAR!

I understand that you are expecting a replacement for your G5.
Upon checking, we do not have any stocks for that specific device.
However, I would like to offer you another model which is the G500.
You may refer to the link below for its features and technical specifications.

That G500 actually looks awesome. I'll probably get it when my G5 dies :).
