ATK Competition Ideas

Was thinking of ideas for ATK competitions, I've got a downloadable steam copy of DIRT 2, and I'm sure some of you have gift games etc. which we could put up as prizes for Competitions that might help with activity.

didn't we have a bitching session about skill-based comps, vs random draws last time? Guess VH can pick this time

I think that this should be a skill based comp - if only because my number (7, btw) came up 3 times, one on the 'test', and one straight after VoX's number in the random draw, and then again on a later random clickfest.

I'm thinking a Quake 3 FFA/CTF (With points > Capture rules), seeing as it's a game everyone has access too (a 15 minute DL at tops, and able just to use 'dddddddddddddd' as a CD-Key, it's a great game all round too.)

Not everyone has or can play Generals. RTSes are bad because people who know how to play them are much better than those who don't. Everyone here is reasonably good at FPS games so it's not as bad, but still not ideal. Preferably we should pick a game which either nobody has played or a game with very low skill ceilings. I'll have a think.

Agreed Phant, I thought Q3 would be a good example, but then again, people who have been playing for 11 years do have a slight advantage XD

The only way to solve it is a pankration. Three rules: No biting, no eye-gouging and no killing. Winner gets the prize, loser goes to the hospital.
