So. Even tho i only jsut build my new K'nex case, its already recieved an upgrade.
Courtesy of freddie (as payment for taking him to IMAX in manchester) I was given his old 15/7" screen without power adaptor.
It had a gay connection and wanted 19v so was gay.
Soldered off the power connector and soldered in my own two cables and found it will run fine on the 12v rail from my PSU.
Used a connector for some old CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Tubes - Case neons) with some more soldering and tape to connect the screen to a molex connector and even have an on off switch ive secured to the back of the case for it.
Then setup the bios to use its onboard GFX as primary device and plugged this screen into that - now I have screen built into case, and can still sue 2 screens on top of that for normal use (i use my second from bed to watch stuff)
As you can see its barley made it any thicker (only 1 white rod and block to enclose) so its still regular case size :)
Only downside is now pc must use internal screen to boot up and POST etc
Now I can use this screen for media player / visualiser / resource monitoring :D
Anyway heres what youve been wanting..... PICS!
