Just realised it's a bit dumb how we have the i40 video music thread but not one for just general ideas for the video. I've discussed some stuff a bit with Chalex, but of course we need your ideas so everyone will be happy with the outcome.

Firstly, I thought for the intro credits we should take inspiration from Guy Ritchie films, for example:

Chalex also had the idea of making it in the style of a frag video, with some good examples on Team Dignitas' site, so I'll try to find them, or he can...

Nice choices there Phant. I think the 3rd is my favourite. I LOVE the editing in this one:

and this one is just a little bit different:

I'll certainly have a bash at doing some cool after effects stuff this time around :).

I'm going to try to learn some After Effects stuff as well, so we might be able to complete the video this time in a sensible amount of time...

I think it was in production for longer than most major blockbusters. Editing-wise, that is.

Interestingly most of the guys who made the frag videos above admitted that they took about a year to edit it. It's not just doing cool effects, it's timing it all to the music.

It'd be great if we could have a few people on the after effects stuff, as that'd massively speed everything up. To do it effectively though, we'd need to actually meet up with our PCs to transfer data and share ideas. The main problem is that I'm not sure I'm free for any weekends in September, but after effects stuff is usually left to the end anyway so that shouldn't matter.
