You can get a BEAST PC for £1000 these days. Will run almost everything on max. I envy you. Do you need a monitor?

Yeah because APPARENTLY Dell are 'evil' but no one seems to know why, they're just told to hate them by senior nerds.

Because they are over-priced, break very easily, generally poor build quality and have shit customer care.
That cover it?

They use half the plastic in the world to entomb there pc's so that you can fiddle with them!

With any new rig youll be able to play Minecraft at over 9000 fps, so don't worry about what you get.
Vicious Horizon
5th April 2011, 08:07 PM
Surprisingly, Minecraft is pretty difficult to play, to play on max gfx you'll need a rig younger than 2 years. (Gogo bad coding)

It's not bad coding. It's the fact that he wrote it in Java (which is why you can run it in a browser).

The prices are with and without VAT cause i can probably buy these components through my dads business and avoid VAT altogether
Mobo
Asrock p67 Extreme6 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-044-AK&tool=3) - £133.32 (£159.98)
Looked at alternatives, but for the price, it seemed like the best value
CPU
Intel Core i7 2600k (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i7-2600k-340-ghz-sandy-bridge1155-qd-core-gpu-850mhz-95w-retai-plus-free-game) - £197.17 (£236.60)
Wondering if i should pay £30 less, and get it without stock cooling, and buy my own. (i have no idea what i would replace it with, so suggestions would be awesome.)
RAM
Corsair xms3 6GB (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-205-CS&tool=3) - £44.99 (£53.99)
This also looking at similar dual channel 4/8 GB Just seemed like this was in between, and had gd reviews.
HDD
Seagate SV35.5 1TB (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1tb-seagate-st31000525sv-sv355-sata-3gb-s-7200rpm-32mb-cache-85ms-ncq) - £42.98 (£51.58)
Don't really know what to get in terms of HDD. Looking for 1-2 TB at 7200 RPM at a similar price. If there are cheaper/more reliable options i would welcome them.
Power Supply
Corsair 750w (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/750w-corsair-enthusiast-750txv2uk-tx-v2-series-85-eff-sli-eps-12v-80-plus-bronze-140mm-fan) - £70.75 (£84.90)
Optical Drive
Pioneer DVR (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/pioneer-dvr-s19lbk-24x-dvdr-12x-dvddl-dvdplusrw-x8-rw-x6-ram-x12-sata-black-retail-labelflash) - £14.98 (£17.98)
Uhhh no idea why i chose this.... if im stupid or if there are better options let me know. labelling the disc isn't that much of a deal.
Case
Corsair Obsidian Series 650D (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-036-CS&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=1489) - £112.49 (£134.99)
This case is so damn sexy!
OR
Corsair Obsidian Series 700D
But i think its too large, and more expensive too.
Keyboard
Microsoft Sidewinder X4 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Sidewinder-X4-Keyboard-Layout/dp/B0037KLSS8) - £34.29
Either this or the wired illuminated keyboard (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/logitech-illuminated-multimedia-keyboard-backlit-keys-ultra-thin) I prefer the look and comfortability rather than lots of extra buttons or settings tbh
Mouse and Cooling still undecided
Monitor should be 24" still undecided
Graphics Card still undecided between the NVidia GeForce 480/580/AMD HD 6950 (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html)
However the current total is at £650.97 (£774.31)
so, yeah. Im hopin this is all under £1000 but if its worth splurging, its worth splurging. All components are up for debate, i don't know very much about this sorta stuff, but i did do my homework.

For your screen you want an nvidia 560, if u want a top end card for not lol price. tho that is more than you want to spend, think theyre around 180.
Not really sure for the ~£100 market
EDIT: Looks like youve got either the nivida 550 or the amd 6850.
Quick look at reviews on bit tech suggest you want the AMD 6850, as unless your buying a screen like mine in the future, it performs better.
But seriously a 560 is literally twice the minimum FPS in games than a 550 or 6850

I will have a look at 560's then, but may have to settle...WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?
You just suggested an nvidia, you ok?
Might have to be 6850 if i cant afford 560
Why are all the clock speeds different arghh, like none of the 560's have same speeds and all the prices are different :s
O well there like £80 more than I wanted to spend, but I will see in a couple weeks what the money situation is, ty for the help, hope you get something sorted Set

For 1920*xxxx or less atm a 560 is where its at for value for money :)
Just coz i dont like nividia cards doesant mean i wont recommend them when theyre actually good value. They just never tend to be.

Yeh when you look nvidia are sooo much more expensive, with very little reason for being so as the ati cards normally get better results on the bench marking
