I must admit that whilst I had considered briefly doing one of these, Foulkez is the one who came up with the ideas to get this done, so I'll be more than happy to help run it. For those who don't know, Quake Live is essentially a free-to-play, browser based multiplayer version of Quake III, one of the most well known PC franchises in history. More information can be found HERE (http://www.quakelive.com/).

On the tournament, sign-ups will initally close on Monday 22nd August, with an option to be extended to Thursday 25th if sign-ups are insuffecient. At this stage, if sign-ups are still insufficient, then the format of the tournament will be altered so it can begin. Please keep an eye on this thread to keep up-to-date with what is going on.

Sign-ups

Vicious Horizon

Rules

Double elimination format - More info HERE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_elimination)

All matches will take place in Duel mode.

The maps used will be allocated one per round (i.e all first round maps on one map, all second round matches on a second etc.). These maps are:

Other in-game specifics are still being decided. Any ideas or critical omissions - let us know.

everyone needs to get on this hype, its free and it is the best 1v1 fps in the world.

for a map pool, it would be prefered to have premium for all of the competitive maps, but that is not going to happen, so i say we use a list like this.

Campgrounds
Blood run(ZTN)
House of Decay
Furious Heights(T7)
Lost world(DM13)

These are all pretty common 1v1 duel maps all seen at 1 time or another in ESL.

Vertical Vengeance is a must.

Also, count me in.

Added in. Seriously, only two people? Thought people would be all over this.

It's because Quake is 'boring', apparantly.

I don't see it personally, it's one of the most fast paced, tactical and strategic games I know.

SIgn-ups are now closed. The three people that have entered may now begin a round-robin style match, with the rules as determined above i.e one match only. Matches may be played on any map from the pool that is agreed upon by the participants. Matches are to be 10 minutes long unless both playrs agree to change the time beforehand. Please provide screenshots of the scores at the end of each match.
