I'm interested in getting a subscription for Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR), as you all seem to be playing it. Don't really know much about the game itself though (apart from seeing the trailer).
What makes it stand out from WOW/Guild Wars/LOTR:O?
Also, post pics of your characters and what side you play on :). Is there an ATK "guild" or something setup?

Well, what makes it different from WoW and Guild Wars?
Possibly the most obvious difference is the questing; instead of it being an obvious 'fetch 10 x and kill 20 y', it's done in standard Bioware fashion, if you've ever played Mass Effect, Dragon age or KOTOR then you can expect these games conversation mechanics in an MMO environent. The storyline arcs are extremely well done and are genuinely enjoyable and interesting.
So far I've not done any grinding of any sort and I'm level 30 out of the max of 50.
The PvP is also unique, as it is completely objective based, and, for me, it's fun whether or not you win or lose, I think most of us are planning on focusing on PvP for end-game, as opposed to the Raid mechanics (which aren't refined at the moment, they'll probably improve in later development, though).
The graphics are good, especially compared to the other MMOs on the market at the moment.
If you do choose to get it, we play on the Empire's side on Legions of Lettow server, it's a busy server, but queues only occur during the most congested times.
Definitely worth a buy, I've only had it a week and I've got more than 2 days play time, and I barely got that on WoW after 6 months of playing.

I'm not buying it because I won't have enough time when I'm back at uni, and I want to play other games. Also, seems pointless when I'm going to ditch it when Guild Wars 2 is released anyway. EA being retarded and banning people for swearing in whispers doesn't help either...

That example came from an exploit where you collaberated with someone on the other faction, constantly switched territory so everything, including containers would refresh. The players would then proceed to grab the loot then switch back over, gaming the system to gain an unfair advantage. Not exactly legitimate.
TBF, one or two of the ban stories have been a bit silly, but everyone else normally has a backsotry that you don't hear about until they stop bitching. I think people need to chill the hell out and play this really well made and damn good game.

And adding to that fact, he had been warned TWICE before he was banned.

The situation in SWTOR was probably justified after reading the whole story, but there have also been multiple accounts of people being banned from their whole Origin accounts for swearing on the BF3 forums (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/12/05/ea-origin-bans-update-edition/). Not to mention the amount of reddit threads which moan about the state of EA's customer support. I don't plan on giving EA any of my money any time soon. It's probably a good thing though that I wasn't interested in the game in the first place.
