Hey folks, with the absence of Oric I think we’re currently struggling to have structured fun, so in an attempt to do something structured at lan, thought we could hold an ultimate gamer type thing. Basically this is an individual tournament played out over 7 games. For each event will be awarded points for your position in the score board ( eg 15 players compete, 1st – 15 pts, 2nd -14 pts ect.) All points are added up at the end and the winner decided. The whole thing would cost £2/3 or so to enter and a prize will be bought out of that for the winner.

League of Legends 1 vs 1

1 v 1 top lane on summoners rift, 1st turret or kill
No jungle to be taken.
Blind pick, 2 bans each will be agreed upon before picking.
You may play each competitor once.
Provided screenshot to confirm victory.
Ratings are based on whoever has the most wins, therefor it is up to you to chase people up to play them in a 1 v 1.

Trackmania nations forever time trial
A map will be agreed upon at the start of lan.
You have the whole weekend to submit your best time to me, confirmed via screenshot.
Rankings based on time, self-explanatory.

CS:GO gun game
Will take place on Saturday night.
Each round bottom 1 of each team will be knocked out until a victor remains.

C&C Generals
Taking place on the Sunday, players will be drawn from a hat to compete in a 8 player f4a,or similar. Top players into an upper bracket and lower players into a lower bracket to play a second game to decide on overall positions.

Team Fortress 2
Saxton Hale Mod
A juggernaut mod, juggernaut achieving most kills wins.

Last game suggestions
How would it be played and work ect please?
Suggested
Halo 1
I’ve also asked the makers of the ship for loads of trial passes and if I get them then that would be sick to play.

I kinda feel like there are people that will be better at games over others and seems like the odds of winning arent really in anyones favor, lets say i had a group of 10 people and got them to name a game they are good at, took all 10 games, cut 5 and then hosted a tournament between the 10 people on the 5 games then its clear that 5 people instantly have an advantage, which while if it were just fun it wouldnt matter, but i kinda feel like that £2 could get me a handyj off ryan calvert in the bathrooms and it would be money better spent.

Examples of games i think would be fair and actually fun:
Robot unicorn attack
That TF2 mod is a good call
Super smash bros
something fun like qwop
Tron bikes

Stuff that no one has an advantage on at all in anyway but can still be deemed as competitive

We can by all means, but id rather not be playing games i dont really want to be playing just because its "fairer". While i've picked games people are potentially better at, i've picked modes that have a good element of luck in. Its obviously up to you guys, but if you arent actually giving me games which are viable to sort a competition out between like 16 people its just silly. How about this for the league of legends, you random a champion and both players play a mirror lane. If you one player doesnt own the champion then you random again? That way the players that don't play as much wont have as bigger champion pool and will most likely stand a much better chance, while ill be picking from a pool of like 105 champions or however many there is and i dont have a clue how to play half of them?

Also with the points we will take your top 6 games, that way, if you have 0 clue how to play 1 of the games, then you can just drop it.

GE:source is a free mod. Requires only SDK base 2007 to play.

To be fair any worms would really work as they're all pretty much the same and the last few have been pretty straight forward to crack and play multiplayer with.

Also making a tournament would be pretty simple as if i remember correctly you can have around 5 people on each team. If that won't work then we can just play 1v1's where each person control's a team.

Mario cart!!! Probably need games that most of us dont play and have a bigger element of luck. Smash Bro's would be fine so long as you get random characters for example. LoL 1v1 could be done in the same way, you only get random champs or maybe handicap the better players to random champs or from a pool of champs. But will be good fun anyway I imagine, also are you bringing back voting for good looking women in Orics absence...

I've decided to change it up and to cater for our gay scene we are instead doing good looking men. So get your favourite hunks at the ready, and start posting!!!!

What considerations are you taking into account to ensure fairness in the tournament, especially regarding game selection, and how do you plan to handle the element of luck in certain games?
