My village (Standlake - in Oxfordshire) has been pretty badly affected by the flooding. Luckily since my house was build 500+ years ago it is on higher ground so we are fine for now, although worse flooding is forecast for tonight. The BBC has been around, and have been broadcasting live to BBC News 24 and the normal News. There are lots of fire engines and even some ambulances.

Enough with the chat, here are some pictures:

The original size of these pictures was 3264 x 2448, so I resized them to 800 x 600. I will post more pictures as the event unfolds!

Post your flood pictures below!

Well I don't think there's any flooding around me at the moment, but after it rains I'll ride down to the village to see.

Anyway, that weird climbing thingy near the playground I climbed up the impossible way is beyond use! Damn. Looks pretty serious anyway.

I took these pictures this afternoon (23rd July), in and around Abingdon. Both the Thames and the Ock are threatening to burst their banks, most likely in the early hours of the 24th. The first few pictures are around the Ock Bridge near the Nag's Head pub. The second batch were taken along the path along the Thames itself, including its wier and lock. The final two are of our dipstick newsreporter, Wesley Smith, who is one of only two people on the current news team to not have been fired when Central merged into Thames Valley.
