Right, I have had lots of complaints about you only playing one artist for hours on end. This is poor Oricalcos, very poor. I myself have noticed the stream always playing various Breaking Benjamin songs, never playing anything else for hours. You have one more chance before we remove you as a C2G DJ. If you don't have the music then simply let the other DJs play their music until you have the right stuff.

C2G radio is not just one type of music, there has to be variety in what you play, to attract the largest amount of listeners. I would never recommend playing more than 2 songs from the same artist in a row. Sort it out!

EDIT: even right now you are playing "Breaking Benjamin - Breath" and you history is:

+ Breaking Benjamin - Firefly
+ Breaking Benjamin - Polyamorous
+ Breaking Benjamin - Ladybug
+ Breaking Benjamin - Sooner Or Later
+ Breaking Benjamin - Topless
+ Breaking Benjamin - Evil Angel
+ Breaking Benjamin - Simple Design

Dedicated hours for one band may sound cool but actually its very unoriginal.. Kind of like a "look how big my Cock is" by saying youve got lots of their songs. But actually it appears very small as it seems youve only got a small record collection.

(=======3 Varied music
(=3 repetitive music

YOU DECIDE!

EDIT: not Penises but stacks of two cds on your shelf with a nice pair of bookstands

First off, Hutch is only one person.

Secondly, this is the first time I have attempted to play one artist as a 'Specialist Hous' after several requests for it from the community for this feature. If it so happens that BB is the first one, after some members requested this, then I will do this. If you do not deem this a good idea, then I will cease this feature, but as far as I can see, it is a popular idea which would only be done once ever week or two weeks.

Thirdly, I have always maintained a vairety on the stream of artists from the current day with one or two songs from previous years. I do strive for vairety, hence why this feature will not always be playing heavy metal or rock. As always I am open to suggestions how to improve.

Fourthly, other than this hour, I have NEVER played two songs by the same artist within 45 minutes of each other, whilst striving to keep that gap to a minimum of an hour. If it so happens that you always see BB on the played part when you look, then thats how it is, just luck or unluck in seeing that, but I do strive for a great variatrion in artists.

As I have said before, I am open to suggestions, and if the Band Hour is not to your tastes, then I shall cease immediatly.

Although in the future I would suggest you actually speak to me, so we can have a meaningful discussion.

Hypocritical!

Only the first one did, because it was my first show. All other shows have had one song, and the first live one didnt have one until the very end, after TWO HOURS of assorted artists.

You have got to understand that this radio is being played on all of our servers, I have seen many people connecting and typing in "c2gradio" and then within 5 mins saying "c2gradiooff", and then them complaining why there is only one artist. I would not like there to be a "Specialist Hour", it sounds like a stupid idea, especially when there wasn't even a poll on the forum, nothing even asking what band we would like.

Right, basically I am not allowing more than 2 plays in a row of one artist / band from now on, I suggest you change your playlist now Oricalcos. Our radio has to be enjoyed by all the people on the server, not just the BB lovers.

I do understand, and I only did this for the enjoyment of the community. Since this is the last song to go as of this writing, I will let it end. Following this, no more specialist hours will occur.

No need to change my playlist, as it is already varied within your rules and boundries set as agreed.

As always, the people on the server's enjoyment is my main priority.

Oric.

Chalex4

No, until our primary feed is popular I will not consider making another one dedicated to a limited number of bands.

Oric spent awhile in the admin room with a select group of people and when I heard what he was saying he said "He has moderator so he might edit your posts to say what you might not mean, and remember that CHalex might revoke his admin and give it to me"

Oric plays a selection of music we all asked if we could have BB hour thats why the playlist says that.

I can remember that people like Jason asked for a Progidy hour, so I think it is alright to play a special show for a certain artist if people want it but not at the primetime for the radio. Also I believe Oric really needs to play less BB, he does play a lot of it.

to be honest only thing i heard was Oricalcos suggest it on teamspeak and one person reply, i didn't realize that one person represented the whole of the community?. you say that seven other people requested it? again 7 out of 49 members is not the majority infact its no where near it. I sometimes request songs that don't get played because the DJs do not feel there suitable and the majority of the community will not enjoy them , i accept this, as should you. the idea of the community is for everyone to have a say in what happens? Thats what the suggestion part of the forum is for , if you have an idea you should poll it there so everyone can have a say and not just follow a dictatorship.

with that put aside i suggest that we all just let this drop? i mean theres no point making this into an argument , Oricalcos was wrong in making a decision not based on the majority of the community , he admits that. No harm was caused? chalex has made the rules clear and at the end of the day hes the founder of C2G and we should respect him by following hes rules.

and now lets all shake-hands....

as for Chazlene point i agree with that to some extent if most of the community has agreed on it then i see no problem , although like chalex has said it maybe best till we have a regular stream of people tuning in , so we can get to no what peoples tastes are and try to please everyone :D

Well said the witch, that was spot on. As said, we may well have "Band Hours" in the future, probably on a different stream, but let's first have a constant amount of regular listeners.

Does it really matter barely anyone listens to the radio anyway although it is funny that all you played was BB for hours Oric, u must have thort it was a stupid idea at the time ....if u did any thinking.....but anyway im sure if ppl had asked oric to play something else he would have done.

Isphera

I would have. But no-one one complained on TS or on the Forum. I actually had people on TS come up with and support the idea before I did it. I like the fact Chalex used the word poor loads of times during his 'telling off'. He doesn't know the meaning of the word.

Calneon

He used it twice, and they were at the same time really. I mean, you can't go "This is poor Oricalcos, very bad", it just wouldn't sound right. But yeah, i'm sure everyone got very annoyed at Oric for playing what he wanted to play, I mean, nobody was forcing you to listen.

Just listen to your own music, you get to listen to what you want AND you don't get the idiot behind the mic inbetween.

How much is the radio licensing fee Chalex? I'd quite enjoy the station going back up :(

Chalex4
10th November 2008, 07:24 PM
Well, the price usually depends on how many people listen to the radio and how many songs are played etc. But I do remember that it was over £80 for one year on a fairly basic setup, which we would no doubt outgrow.

If someone wants to research it again and find some proper details, then I may well reconsider. However, it will never happen without subscriptions, since we have none at the moment.

Well, when I get a job, I'll start subscribing.
