So, Bloo, Target and I were talking on TS about pokemon randomly, and we thought it would be well cool innit to all get a game boy emulator and play pokemon together.

This got me thinking...

I could find a game boy emulator, a ROM, and we could all paly pokemon together with netplay and stuff. Because, once you stripped away all the miscellaneous crap like the cards and the TV series, Pokemon was actually quite a decent game.

Who's with me?

I'm thinking we should probably do Gold/Silver, because that's the one I like the best, but Red and Blue would be cool for retro value. We're not doing any of the later ones, when the amount of pokemon gets insanely big, because that's just no fun.

EDIT: Get the emulator here (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gba/vboyadvance.html). Since ROMs are strictly illegal, it would be very very wrong to get a ROM from here (http://www.dgemu.com/gbc-list------P.html), so don't do it. No exceptions.

Indeed. This is completely illegal and we shouldn't do it, don't click on that link now and download your favourite version and start playing together.

Don't.

(Right, gold or silver, gold or silver...)

Why not just play the old cartridges you actually have and then use a link cable?

Yeah! And why live in houses when those caves were pretty comfy?

Because not all of us go to the same school Oric.

Then again, it might work if we had a link cable hundreds of miles long...

Yes, it's called the internet, and gameboys can't run it, good news, PC's can!

No, you just need a netplay-enabled emulator and Kaillera. More on this later

Since I can't find the frickin edit button, I need to update the first post.

There's an emulator with netplay here (http://www.vbalink.info/), and I haven't got Gold and Silver downloaded, so don't email me if you want a copy of it. EDIT: get version 1.8 (the one with wifi).

EDIT: Don't get Gold and Silver here (http://mrwednesday.rogem.net/pokemon/)

As luck would have it, I found an ACTUAL pokémon game, for the gameboy and all!
