View Full Version : VoX and Darkdeagle's Challenge

Our IT Teacher was discussing networks and talked about RM. The discussion lead onto RM Tutor 3 and we all had a bit of a laugh at kids being caught out in the middle of flash games and getting their accounts messed with.

He said that RM Tutor 3 is accessible through a Student account. Darkdeagle and I fancied a challenge so now were going to find out how that's possible. We're probably going to spend lunch and a few lessons trying to get in/see what other stuff can be "achieved" with RM.

Other than Google and our attempts at trying to get into the Command Prompt we will need some advice on some obvious and some hidden places that we could find RM Tutor. Or our IT teacher could be screwing with us but what the hell.

These are the restrictions we have on the computers:

Strict website filtering (We can both easily get round that)
"Run" and Command Prompt are hard to get into
We cannot run .exe and .bat files
We can't access any of the hard drives

We'll extend this list as we have a proper crack at what we can and can't do.

We reckon an admin's password would be a good start, or our Science teacher has been allowed to run .exe's (No other teacher can.)

Post ideas below.

NOTE: Before you ask our IT teacher would allow us to try this just as long as we don't screw with any accounts.

Pull the power cable out and be done with it, RM is the worst system to use even for schools.

the funniest thing I ever did at my old school was, use remoteshutdown and set it looping every 20 minutes on a hidden machine.

had the network shutting down for over 3/4 of the day, thats until they decided to pull the plug on every switch.

also changing the bootscreens to custom photoshopped, "Youve been jacked by EZ64" was funny to a entire classroom.

We might be a bit buggered as we tried this in History today and deleted several batch files with the name CMD.bat and with several codes inside them. One of our mates then accidentally deleted an English essay he needed and then went to see if the technicians could recover it. He then came back and said that he'd got it back and that they had a massive computer (server) with Vista running on it and they had a recycle bin with all of the recently deleted files on it, Darkdeagle and I looked at each other and both thought the same thing. Oh shit!

Don't know if they can. Worth a try though :) I'll get the admin password thing as soon as I can for you, and I can send you the cmd.exe on MSN

Well it was a shortcut to %LOGONSERVER% then we had access to all program files and printers. We then browsed for RMManagement folder, (the pricks didn't restrict it) found RM Tutor 3 folder, and then it's pretty much what Darkdeagle said.

At my school all we can do is the old net send for anyone that doesent know

open notepad

type - net send [persons school login username] hello ect

then save as .bat

double click it and your set

its good to scare people 'Admin says Get off games!'

UPDATE: It's now been blocked and we need to find another way in, we was going via the print server and another one (abbreviation is sr) but were now going to try the media server and the DAM server (Data Access Management I reckon.)

Was scary when our teacher took over my computer and opened My Documents, made a new text document, turned out he was just giving me more server directories :p)

Just makes it all the more fun mate!

Ha, bit like what happened to my mate when we spent the night playing on command prompt. He came up to my mate and said "Were you on the terminal server last night?" At which point my mate shits himself! Then he said "You forgot to log off!"

PHEW.

Anyone know any command prompts that can be fun/help hack? :)

Cheers :D

lol hacking isnt creating a shortcut to a file path, you should be able to have access permissions anywhere on the share or NTFS level.

you have some really retarded system admins.
