Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
The Hitch-hiker's guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams.
1984 by George Orwell.
Alex Rider series by Antony Horowitz (When I was a lot younger of course).

Those are just the main books I enjoyed, there's many more I've read though.

Imperium by Robert Harris, Julius Caesar Quadrilogy by Conn Iggulden, then T Pratchett, Chris Ryan, McNab. Tolkien= God.
