What is LeachLAN?
Being a social LAN, LeachLAN 8 is a great place to meet up with friends and chill out over a weekend with some fun, relaxing gaming. Open up some of the old classics, such as UT2004 and Supreme commander - but do not think that more recent games will be left untouched as more recent games such as Monday Night Combat and Magika will also be played. Being on a LAN also allows for a lot of larger games and there is no better experience than taking part in big games like Team Fortress 2, Armagetron or some Supreme Commander which will be organised throughout the weekend.
For the more competitive gamer there will also be a number of fun tournaments, where you can play against fellow attendees for the chance of LAN Glory. You could also win a few prizes along the way! The tournaments will be chosen by attendees of the event using our usual polling system on the forums to ensure you get the games you would like to play!
On the social side of things, there will be a FREE BBQ, the return of the PUB QUIZ or you can chillout with your mates in in our social gaming area. There will also be many more opportunities to socialise with fellow gamers over the weekend!

Bring a newb?
You may have heard about our new bring a newb scheme that we introduced at LeachLAN 4, this scheme allows anyone who is signed up and paid for LeachLAN 8, to bring a friend who has not been before, for a fiver! It proved to be a great success, and has returned for this event!

There are 10 "newb spaces" for this event, and they are available on a first come, first served basis! To find out more about "Bring-A-Newb", please see the “Bring-A-Newb” page!

How much?
The event itself costs £40 for a BYOC space if you book before 28th June and will be £50 thereafter

Additional Services
Spectator entrance fee is £5 per day or £10 for the entire weekend.
Server co-location is available for the cost of £10 for the weekend.
Additional wired connection is available for £5 for the weekend.

Would consider going to this but im not certain if ill be available have the money yet.

If a few others go im sure i could pull it together :)

You know what - I'll check my calender, I'm game if a couple others come - i'd qualify as a newb :)

A possibility, I'll have finished college by then, depends on my financials, I'll confirm later morgyn as Leach 7 wad a lot of fun :)

EDIT: Btw Oric, tradition states that the newb should buy food for the rest of the group, as you spent less on a ticket ;)

Or average the cost of the two tickets and pay the difference back?

I'm totally up for this, leach 7 was awesome and made some great friends there and found some old ones lurking around the place too, was even more fun camping when we found out that there was a murderer lose in the local village xD this time i recon we get a bigger atk presence there, since its reali good social atmosphere helped even more by the nerf wars that take place 24hours a day :)

I had to get rid of bodies that weekend anyway why not combine it with a LAN, petrol costs too much not to :D

Well I'm very up for going, NorthLeach is quite nice actually, an ATK presence won't go amiss (Also a fellow WIDOT is booked and paid, so it's pretty much compulsory now XD)

Same as most people, I shall see how my finances leave me (probably not great tbh, as I intend on buying a new bike in the next two weeks). But I'll see how it is closer the time!
