Extreme Overclocking (Image Heavy)
"There are always those who are willing to take things one step further than others. A group of guys known as OC Team Italy is one of them. They recently pushed an Intel Pentium 4 631 to over 8000MHz using an ASUS P5B with modified voltage regulation and liquid nitrogen. Overclocking is cool and all, but this extends beyond what some would perhaps call useful. Still a milestone though."
I thought this was bloody rediculous to be honest, but bloody hell, look at the setup!:

This is also the same processor I have BTW. When I get some decent ram I might try and go up to 3.6GHz from 3.4Ghz, but I'll have to open my case and put a massive fan on the processor lol.

WoW!
P4's usually run stupidly hot at 3.4 anyway 8ghz is amazing.
Re: Extreme Overclocking (Image Heavy)
Yeah, was just thinking about that ez64. Imagine what they could get with a Core2 Extreme :D.
Re: Extreme Overclocking (Image Heavy)
i can get 4.7 pretty easily out of my qx6700 now i have phase change. if i get a new cooler for my chipset i shud b able to push WAY past 5.
im looking at a full watercooling system for my chipset(s) and possibly gfx(s) - its not likely ill get any hardware upgrades apart from maybe ram b4 i34
Re: Extreme Overclocking (Image Heavy)
Just looking at the first pic, was thinking: 'omg they're like really cool deliberately putting their fags in the picture' then I read that they're Italian, pretty hard to take a photo over there WITHOUT a packet of fags in the shot.
Re: Extreme Overclocking (Image Heavy)
What does overclocking do :S
Re: Extreme Overclocking (Image Heavy)
If you fit enough digital/grandfather clocks in your pc case it makes your pc run faster due to it knowing the time and not have to waste CPU usage on it, have to up the volts to power them though :)
I hope that helped.
Re: Extreme Overclocking (Image Heavy)
Lol, hooray for the extra 1MHz!
