2011 DWPS - Open Discussion and Review Thread

This will be the thread for general discussion as well as the review of how the rounds turn out.

All brackets were done in a random fashion, and I had no control over who faced who. I did endevour, however, to make the prelims as fair as possible and for no-one to face their own nomination in the prelims or the first round. Fortunatly, no situation presented itself where an alteration was needed.

There are still spots in the bracket for nominations to leave the prelims, If this is the case, then they will be randomly selected to be altered.

Rules

When posting the poll, I will use the image from the initial nominaton. If the person who nominated the woman in question objects to that image, then they and only they can provide me with a new one.

In the thread itself, anyone can post any other image directly linking to either of the two contenders under poll. Whilst I'm sure many will appreciate as skimpy or as unclothed as possible, please bear in mind this is not Nuts or Playboy, and thus please limit the extent of nudity, and no pornography of any kind - we do want people to actually come to the site.

Polls will last for a determined period of time at the start of each round or end early if there is a significant majority for one nomination over the other.

The polls currently under contest will be sticked. Results will be posted in this thread after the conclusion of the poll.

In the event of a tie in the first round, the poll will be extended until a vote is cast that breaks the tie. In the event of a tie in the second round and beyond, the winner of the poll will be the nomination with the higher cumulative margin of victory for previous polls [For example, A wins by 2 and 5 in the first two rounds, and B wins by 1 and 7. A and B tie on their poll, thus B (with a +8) beats A (+7)]

All polls will be public.

No code has to be inserted here.

THE CONTENDERS - HERE

UPDATE 1 - Updated bracket due to some placeholder nominations not being made. Also added rule placeholder to be added at a later date.
UPDATE 2 - Adjusted bracket for Setsoru's final nominations. Added status column to help keep track. Added ruleset - unchanged from last year.
UPDATE 3 - Updated statuses of preliminaries
UPDATE 4 - Finished prelims, added into round one
UPDATE 5 - Added nominations to this thread, updated first two trees of round one.
UPDATE 6 - Updated round one.
UPDATE 6 - Finished round one and round two results and added some Quarter-Final results. Changed some picture links.
UPDATE 7 - Updated both noms and bracket to final. Tournament finished.

Looks like I drew the short straw again.

I reckon Byron will go through, and I'm actually worried about Yustman against Mink. So not all bad :D

OK - I started it a little early :D

First polls are up right now and will keep going at the rate of 2 a day until the end of the first round.....or I forget/don't have time to run it.

OK, slight alteration - polls will now go up once every two days, to allow more to vote on the early rounds. It WILL change back to two a day for the first round - not actve, miss out :)

Well, bugger me. Looks like I've screwed myself in the first round. Cuoco gets Hazell, Yustman is up against Mink and Brooklyn Decker will most likely get Kate Beckinsale :S

Can we remove katy perry as she is nearer dude without the pshop and makeup :D

I never thought Katy looked masculine before...it's more about the "whole package" as it were :p.

If Katy Perry does better than Zooey Deschanel did in the first DWPS I'll be well annoyed, since Zooey is just a better looking version of Katy.

So, how his Oric feeling about the loss of Summer Glau in the Preliminary round? I just watched the Terminator Decoupling ep of BBT, and well, she didn't look much in that. It's sad such a strong contender went out so early.

haha, Im pretty sure anyone would look shit if you got woke up in the middle of the night and someone took a photo :s How come my own nominations are against each other :s now I have to choose

I picked that up earlier, hence why A4 was started instead of the A1 - I will switch one of the noms from A3 with one for A1 when time comes.

Fair point, but that's not to say all ideas done whilst stoned are good.

I will, but I'm only doing this one. TBF, late entries went into the prelims by default (and doing so cost me Summer Glau), but seeing as those in prelims were in prelims before the first rejigging, it shouldn't be a big deal.
