Nice sets both of you though.

Nice sets both of you though.
Makes me want my camera back =/
Me likely, you've grasped composition v well and managed to make mist work, and that's not easy to do! Look forward to seeing what else you come up with.
Meeting up with Gary today up London with cameras, shall post up if we get anything worthwhile, light looking kinda flat though =/.
Awesomes, enjoy the light trail shots :). Best piece of advice I've been given for them is make them compliment the shot, don't make them the shot. Kinda hard when there's nothing interesting though =/.
Today was a laugh, Gary took to photography well!

Mexican Grill by Callum Sullivan, on Flickr
I shoved my camera into automatic at 125, after taking the shots I realised my Dad hadn't left in my 200 film, instead the 3200 film was still in there, I'll scan them in once I develop them, see how utterly over-exposed they are XD
Have never touched film, although assuming film ISO is roughly the same as digital ISO (In the sense of if you used settings you would on ISO100 on ISO3200 you'd get some lolexposure) I'd expect a near white-out :p.
I'm really liking your last 2 pics there vox. Did you do any kind of processing on them?
Cheers :).
Just minor adjustments in CameraRAW (Black levels, fill light, recovery, clarity etc) and the usual curves/levels and then a good old sharpen to finish off.
I shoot in RAW which can give a slightly flat and soft image, although there's a lot more scope for (much needed) PP, hence the load of adjustments.
Another monochromatic from the day.

Camden Bridge by Callum Sullivan, on Flickr
Love the Mexican Grill photo.
How do you go about blurring the background and not the target in some of the other photos?
The movement ones? I *think* it's a quick focus and moving the camera at the same relative speed so the subject doesn't appear to be moving but the background is, if you see what I mean.
Thanks :). If you mean the motion ones then yeah, it's like VH said, focus on the car and move the camera along with the speed of the car while exposing. I tend to use Tv mode and then about 1/20th of a sec. The VR on your lens will come in handy here, comparing the car movement shots down with my old lens (No stabilisation) and the new one (Sigma's Optical Stabilisation) there is a big diff in the crispness of the car. Admittedly the cyclist isn't the best example, this is probably better.

Ford In Motion by Callum Sullivan, on Flickr
Just keep in mind the composition of the shot and the fact the car is moving and you'll get some good results :).
Yeah that's a good example.
Don't know how people would react if I just take random pictures of their car lol.
Cheers. You learn to ignore it lol. Just remove number plates and all should be good.
Good day in Camden for taking photos?
Yeah it was alright in Camden, should of gone a bit earlier though cause the sun was setting as we come out of the tube station =/.
Went out today, took tripod and shot with the intention of not having to delete any at all due to camera shake, this was my favorite.

Is that my border style on the second photograph? :)
Nice use of f/stop stacking (I knew what that was, didn't have to google search or anything xD).
Well I went to crop it, then liked the effect given by the blanking out, so made it a border instead lol.
Thanks, and yeah, I heard someone mention it so had a google and decided to give it a try :D.
I envy you guys being able to see your results just after you take 'em. I still haven't seen the pics I took last week XD
Haha, grab a digital body in the sales then :p. If you're Canon based then your lenses should still work with auto-focus too.
Just a quick mess about with the flash, I was a twonk and left camera on ISO 1600 so had to be softened a bit to remove the noise.

From the shoot today, C&C welcome as I'm still quite inexperienced at working with models.

Was bored and had loan of this again today

So took a trip back to ye ole days.
http://i.imgur.com/SRJm1.jpg
Old days? Pah, I'm still shooting film from the 90s XD
xD. Am really tempted to give film a go again, although I just gave a mate my old 500n, plus I'm addicted to Lightroom/Photoshopping and the developing costs would kill me :p.
It really makes you think about every single shot you take.
You've got 30 shots / film, and you've got 2 areas where you can fuck up, the actual shot, and the development
Yeah, have been debating going out with a 512MB/1GB card and stopping myself deleting them, just exercises like that make you think (Like stopping my mate using his 50D and forcing him to shoot with his TZ10 for a week xD)
Graveyards are an interesting place....

Angelic by Callum Sullivan, on Flickr
An e-cookie to whoever notices my borrowed toy in the EXIF ;)
While I love the photos, they all look very emo lol.
Nice Vox, that Angelic one is pretty creepy... you should heavily edit to make it properly haunting looking, or perhaps you could send it to me so I can have a go? :p
They're lovley.
Cheers Hutch, think the emoness came from being in the graveyard for some of the shots lol.
Ooh, might do Chaz. Photo practice exam piece is on Angels and Demons, so if you can come up with anything and briefly explain it would be most appreciated :D. Will PM you a higher res file in a sec.
Thanks Piers.
I especially like the emo ducks.
They're ready to kill you can tell.
WEEPING ANGEL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.
DON'T BLINK.
Shameless sales bump :D
got some 1960's Super 8 cine camera/cine projector and 35mm stuff for sale on ebay if anyone wants the link.
Had a go at some sports today. Froze my ass off, had to sprint in a suit (shot wasn't even worth it lol) and dealt with constant auto-focus issues because of the not very fast AF of the 1000D. Plus, teacher wasn't amused when I came in and camera was pretty wet from the rain (schools gear). Ahh well it dried out :p. Need some practice if I'm honest.

Hopefully in a few days I'll have a definite buyer on my 1000D, then I shall post up the new toy (currently borrowed but still technically not mine until I pay lol) :p
Holy shit somehow missed you posting those football ones Vox, I'm pretty sure whatever that guy in the last photo is doing is cheating :p
Anyway I've got a photography project for uni which I've been failing at with my shitty camera, here's a photo from it, a muntjac skull with a bit of editing:
http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/i/20...ne-d39ri00.png
I remember having to draw those things for about 3 months in Year 11.
I know every little nook and cranny in those goddamn skulls XD
