How to be a Good Admin

Now this is a big topic seeing as Bad-Boy will post a billion times here.

An Admin firstly should be playing or be involved in the thing he is admin over. This means that he has to be active on the server as often as he can be. Admins however should never go on a server simply to be admin unless someone has requested you to, as this is just being power hungry. The Admin should be playing the game AND enjoying it as then he won't be prone to ranting on at how the other person is hacking and irrationally banning users. It's better for an admin to realise that something is wrong without going on deliberately to search for people to punish.

Admins are primarily there to preserve game play and keep the enjoyment of the medium to what it was designed for. However there are limits to how far you can preserve this and sometimes times change. Some people will go on servers with more liberal admins and some will leave with admins who are too liberal, to be honest you have to find a balance between clean language and unpleasantness as you can't penalise too harshly nor let people off.You have to be a balanced person.

Remember that you can't jump to conclusions too quickly unless it's blatantly obvious and ask the opinions of others before banning someone. We do want people on our servers and we want them to have fun. http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/3...agon3vq4ac.jpg
Also lead by example, If there is no spawnkilling, then don't spawnkill. Don't lower your language either, hold the upper hand if someone is being rude and be polite.
Lastly, to be an admin you must be active and actually play with people and treat them as equals.

Enjoy the game, it's a responsibility not a right to be admin and sometimes it is nice to be in control but don't cross the line

Yeah, I agree, just forget it. But it is good that you admit that you was a spammer! And it is also good that you have stoped with it! Anyway, the tutorial is good. Can't we make that everyone that is going to be a new admin have to read it? I think it would be great. *caugh*chaos...*caugh* ^^ Nah, just kidding, but I really think it would be nice if it will be like I said.

Seriously, you three (Venom, Darwin and Bad-Boy) really need to stop complaining and arguing with each other at the end of each thread, so many threads have been closed because of this. Now don't go and reply blaming someone else and being childish.
