COD MW/MW2 Comparison

Since MW2 is getting very close to its release date, I thought I'd post up a quick comparison for you between the latest and previous Modern Warfare game.

I was sooo looking forward to this game a couple of months ago, and practically preordered it. I just find it so hard to believe that they think the online aspect of MW2 is better.

Sure, it could be good in some ways, but I'm just going to wait and see. I don't think I'll ever get over the idea of 18 players on a server though when I usually look for at least 24/32.

Why bother get MW2, get Borderlands instead!

I still havent even launced borderlands once :P

Its max 16 players isnt it 8v8, u can't even lean!!!! and basically they took pc game turn it into console game and gave the console version to pc gamers. A lot of people where looking forward to this game, the single player looks pretty good as usual, but the mp is going to be awful, gunna wait till xmas and see wot people think but i can see most people stickin to cod4 unless it gets some good reviews or there is a possibility of competitive play.

Anyway on MW2, well the MP is crap, the SP looks like it'll be good, but at the same time, it looks like they've gone completely mental as well (an underwater bit, fights in the middle of Washington D.C. heck I won't be suprised if we don't go to space either.)

But I'm not buying it, simple as. :D

as i will not count MW2 as a multiplayer game= not worth purchasing= TORRENTICUS!

Also, after watching that rap MW2 video the single player certainly looks like a blast, but don't you think the graphics look rather disappointing compared to the likes of BFBC2?

Mostly I think "OH FFS, the singleplayer looks STUPID." End of.

Be honest guys, who really bothered with COD4 multiplayer for extended periods of time anyway? and i'm not just talking about XP-driven play, how long did you find it fun?

Target plays it at quite a serious level iirc....

I quite often jump on a team deathmatch server with 24-32 players. Sure, it's a complete spam fest but I have a great time and usually end up with a score in the top 5 :D.

I dont exactly regularly play it (tho i dont regularly play anything...).

But every time I do i always find it fun and enjoyable. It annoys me that the leveling system isnt hosted on a cloud coz im never on teh same userprofile and have to keep starting over. thats the only real reason i dont play it alot more

That's the ONE improvement MW2 will have over MW1 lol.

i'm serious, you will not get any good multiplayer in on the PC... Local servers DO NOT WORK. The obvious example is L4D... even four players causes a problem. Anyone who has recently tried borderlands through gameranger will also get the same thing. Anyone who has tried the freebie shooter AVA will discover this.

How many times have you turned round and said in TS, or in another group, and said, "I can't host local, who can?"


local servers kill game quality, it can go die in a fire.

This is make to make things EASIER than using dedicated servers remember, and to be honest changing my NAT settings on my router is way fecking harder than clicking on a server I fancy.

Also, for some reason all the MW2 players can't see anyone else online :p.

I give it 3-5 days before online is working perfectly on the pirated version. You don't give a massive finger to the PC community and avoid getting fingered yourself.

Pirate bay has alot of torrents for MW2, some are even confirmed to work.

Hmm not that I support illegal downloading, but I don't think any of the MW2 downloads actually work with multiplayer right now. Give it a week :).

Trouble with the pirated multiplayer is that it wont have proper cheat protection and will be overrun by hackers.
