ATK Screenshot competition!

Hello ATK members, I want to try something a bit different, to evoke activity on the forums. What I've decided on is a screenshot competition which will run over a week and the winners will be decided by public vote.

The Premise

There will be three simultaneous competitions going on at the same time, each one will be focused on a different type of screenshot. On the 7th March (Sunday) there will be public polls created so that we can vote on the winners. The winners will each win a £10 off voucher for the EA store.

The Rules

• Screenshots can be from any game.
• Screenshots must not be doctored in any way (i.e. Photoshop).
• Screenshots will not be judged on graphical quality (up to a point).
• Screenshots can be any size and resolution, but try to keep them under 2MB.
• After one week three seperate polls will be created for each category, where all entries can be voterd on. Don't vote for your own, the poll will be public so we can see if you do.
• 1 entry per person, you can post more if you want but make sure it's clear which one you're entering.
• Polls will last until the Wednesday following the end of the competition.

The Categories

1. Mass Destruction
The more death, explosions, and general destruction in the screenshot the better.
2. Comedy
Got a heavy with an arrow in his crotch? A ragdoll that's fallen in an 'unfortunate' position? They go in here.
3. Vistas
Sunsets, majestic views of nature, the more beautiful the screenshot the better. Screenshot composition will be judged!

How To Enter

To enter, create a post in this thread with your screenshot and which category it is for. You can create multiple posts for different categories but you can have more than one per post as well. If you post more than one per category, say which one is your official entry.

The Prize

The winner of each category will win a code for £10 off at the EA store, allowing you to get any of these games for free, or get £10 off any other game from the EA store. I got these codes from buying coke. The winners are determined by vote at the end of the competition, if the same person wins 2-3 of the categories then the code will go to 2nd place.

Hmm, ArmA II or Fallout 3 methinks, I love the aesthetic quality of the two games

This is so annoying. I had a ton of epic screenshots......on my old PC, which is now rimmed. And I doubt I'll be able to get any good ones in time to enter with my new PC, assuming I order it all Monday :(

Can I suggest a 4th category of "Epic"?

A bit like Vistas I guess, but focusing more on individuals and stuff.

Yes, i was in a fleet of over 500 people, i think it was around november 2008
good times eyh

(thats probably not the whole fleet, first off because fleet can only be 256ppl, and there were three fleets, two battleship and support fleet, which was around 400ppl, and then there was the capital fleet which was around 100-150ppl, that day there was so much lagg in some systems i could not get into the fight sometimes :P)

May have to whack open Crysis and a few mods to get some Vista shots :p.

Had a CNC4 beta win of 2500-1337 but screenshots dont work in game without fraps :(

How lucky, mass destruction category, just as I get Napoleon: Total War... I'm thinking a custom battle with a full stack of howitzers or summat.

Garry's mod me thinks...just as a million barrels explode hopefully it will screeny before crashing ^^ and a claim this idea so if someone else does it you will get aids (and not the good kind)

Is Bloo going to blow up Megaton purely for a 'splosion?


(Also, can we add an 'atmosphere' category to the competition? But just for bragging rights, rather than a prize.)

Nope, though the view from Tenpenny Tower is epic.

And ugh, I was waiting for someone to say Garry's mod, it's like the game version of photoshop. :p

Vance's Longcoat + Bandana + Modded Bugeye Goggles = Awesome char, I just can't decide which shot I should use.....

I'm going to bump this and postpone the results poll indefinitely until we get enough entries.

It's a tad annoying my PC hasn't started working yet, cause I had some good ideas for some World In Conflict screenies.

Get yer Crysis out! (Natural mod also used). Just some rough ones while I find a better place and find if there's a way to remove the hud and fly about.

I have one for mass destruction... If I can find it!

It's a shot of the aftermath of my one shot kill on 4 (Yes, 4) people with a single bullet!

You just see the name and killed, 'cos I was sniping at the time. Depends if I can find it.

VoX, use fists, then sprint a couple of steps, that gets rid of weapons.. I'm sure there's a console/cfg tweak to get rid of the console.
