I bought the Half-Life 2 Episode pack, but is Episode One and Half-Life 2 different? If so, SHIT.

Take that ya one-eyed, bomb-lobbin', cactus eatin', pot bellied, thug fat jigglin-chicken whoopin' big, back-stabbin lob-armed creepy spastic bloody, blind-eyed pashy little twitchy pickle-headed rocke- hoppin, potato-poppin' phony two-faced stealthy mutant bastard!
Uh, you get episode 1 and 2 in the episode pack, but not half life 2. I'm not sure I understand.

Episode One and Half-Life Two are different.
Half Life Two is the original, 16 hour game. Episode One is the following 6 hour installment. Episode Two was the 8 hour installment after that.
K. I guess i'll just play Episode 1 and 2, then buy HL2 later.
@ Phantom: The episode pack doesn't include HL2.

Your a spanner. Seriously, buy HL2 first. It won't make too much sense otherwise
Am I the only one who after reading the thread title wanted to say: "Well done, next time wear a condom, dingus?" - anyone? Comeon...
Anyway, play HL2 first otherwise Ep1 and 2 won't make much sense. They don't make much sense anyway but it's nice to do them in order anyway.
Am I the only one here who has completed HL1?
I have. But Half Life 1 and 2 are basically unrelated when you get down to it :P
Oh and why didn't you buy The Orange Box? It contains all the Half Life 2 episodes and the original, plus Portal and Team Fortress 2.
If you already have Portal/Team Fortress 2, then why the hell did you buy them seperately in the first place?

Yeah, there's no reason not to go with the Orange Box, it's far far cheaper than buying all the games separately and plus you get Peggle for free!
