Doing web comics the proper way.

I've been experimenting with drawing with pencil the ATK caricatures and scanning the pictures in, then photoshopping over the top, the proper way of making comics, rather than being cheap and doing it all in Photoshop like I do at the moment.

I've only tried this with a picture of me, and it'll probably be a while before I start using this method in the ATK comics, since right now I can only Photoshop the drawings slowly and inefficiently.

Here's what I've done stage by stage, say what you think:

    Wireframe/geometric whatever drawing.

    Detail drawn in.

Scanned in and black added in Photoshop.

    Colour and faint shadows added.

    That. Is. Awesome.

I wish I had your artistic talent (or the dedication to practice :P). But seriously, they look great. Not sure how you get from step 2 to 3 though.

I also can't help noticing his arms and legs are black. O.o

That is truly amazing, I haven't got the patience of the artistic or photo shopping talent to even try this! Nice one.

    RIP OFF ALERT!

Well Darkeagle and Darkpidgeon were taking the piss out of me in art because I failed at drawing a cartoony bloke (Batman I think) but here I am to prove them wrong!

    I'll Photoshop them another time.

    EDIT:

    Added black and minor shadows:

This doesn't require much skill, just patience. All you need to know is how to draw and how to use the Pen Tool.

(And yes I do know that I suck at this.)
