Given the fact i've heard little from most people (other than you Oric) in the community about sports games, i'd have to say that it isn't needed. The Other Games forums can fit the purpose if you want though.

If there is a small following, then perhaps a sub-forum, and if i'm completely wrong and you're all avid fans of sports game, then i'll retract my comment and everyone can discount my vote.
