    Grinding vs. Questing

I just got this e-mail from a friend of mine, and I thought it was interesting enough to share with you.

Anyway, there has always been this question of "Should I grind or should I quest to get to level 70?"

Well, there is a real easy answer to that question, but it's solved by mathematics.

The XP required from 1-70 is currently at: 10,847,000 or, an average of 154,000 per level.

My leveling time of 5 days 8 hours, put me at an average of 84,742xp per hour.

The average xp you will gain from a mob over the 70 levels works out at 252.36xp per mob you kill (starting at 50 at level 1 and
finishing at 585 at level 70)

Keep in mind that this has all been averaged out, leveling xp per hour in the early levels is far lower in the end (I think I was getting 6k/hr in level one and 70 I finished around 260k/hr)

Now, if we take this 252.36 figure, that means you would have to kill 336 mobs an hour, that's 5.6 a minute. It might be possible to do this for the first few levels, but try doing this as a Rogue
or Hunter or Warrior or anything at level 30. It won't happen consistently.

The only classes that this is even remotely possible on is maybe mages (downtime has to be taken into consideration too) and that's a big maybe
There you have it. So if you want a 70 Marc, stop grinding.

It's pretty obvious that the fastest way is to integrate questing with grinding so that you grind to complete quests, and you need to find the best way to do these quests so that you have as little travel time as possible.

I leveled an orc hunter once using Joana's guide, got to level 35 in just over a day play time. It really does work, but then I got bored xD.

I think we can agree that 99% of us agree that the best way to level quick is questing. Marc seems to be allergic to the quick part. Nonetheless, I was feeling a bit bored and statistical, and felt like posting the exact figures
