    Formation Tactics

These are some tactics I put together for the A-team, Just basic ones at the moment, now, the colours aren't for the teams apart from the bomb formations, so they're interchangable between T and CT.

    Frm. 1:

    When approaching a corner (such as on cs_office), whole team in a staggered formation, not around corner yet;

Person on front outside moves to other side of the corner, looking in a concave way to make a semi-circle, fire can be exchanged, if the player sees an enemy, but they do not shoot, do not engage, and either do C2 (Enemy Spotted) or C4 (Sector Clear), IF C2, front inside on both corners crouch and look out of the corner, firing at enemy, while someone behind one of the crouching team-mates walks out and fires over their head.

    Frm. 2

When moving down a corridor, two people in a line at front, the others in staggered following, person at back looks behind to avoid an ambush from behind, person on the LEFT FRONT should be the caller, and they give orders for corner assaults (Frm. 1) or Open Air attacks (Frm. 3)

    Frm. 3

When in an area which is open and doesn't contain alot of cover, the team should run for a more-covered area in this position, which gives protection from lateral and longitudal fire, and grenade blasts (if there is enough room to spread out)

    Frm. 4

Terrorists should cover the carrier in a NATO-Helicopter defense position, accurate weapons are generally needed for this position to be effective, once the bomb is activated then players should spread out into a heavy-cover area with full view of the bomb, bomb should be placed near cover and walls to decrease entrances to the bomb's area.

Counter Terrorists should use this formation to protect the person defusing the bomb, if there are more than 5 people in team, others should split up and scout for snipers and neutralise any enemies who may be a threat to the team.

    OTHER TACTICS:

    Terrorists:

Always carry at least one FB, aswell as a HE and some Body armour, in a DE map, play heavily offensive, but still reserved enough to stay alive, you're no use to us dead. In a CS map, play extremely defensive, don't be a hero, they need all 4 hostages to win, so if they're split up, get the whole team defending once set.

    Counter Terrorists:

Same equipment as the T team, but buy defusal kits in every single DE map, (please). in CS maps, play Passive offensive, we can still win by eliminating them, but the hostages are a primary objective. DE maps should be Passive defensive, but a good defense is sometimes made with prevention, rather than a mad dash for the bomb in the final seconds.

May add some more later, whaddaya think?

Most of it is common sense if you think about it, but it would definately help if you guys could actually use this in a match.

DK, Using RAF tactics (I was in the ATC for about a year) in real life seems to work, so why wouldn't it work in-game? I don't see a reason, if we can practise these tonight then we'll get them done into memory, it'll almost become second nature if we practise this

Note: Mitch, can we turn off team auto-balance by any chance? So we can practise these as a single team rather than having 3 of us on one team trying to replicate it in scale

Haha, but I guess that those unorganised 10 year olds shooting at a group of formed up ATKers who are concentrating their fire on one target would get slaughtered, wouldn't they?

    Re: Formation Tactics

The corridor staggered should be able to avoid that, and the corner assault you can just short retreat.

    Re: Formation Tactics

    Got bored, did this.

This is a basic strategy, which involves the team working together to eliminate threats and then rescuing the hostages.

PS. On the match server, how many hostage kills before you get kicked?

    Re: Formation Tactics

lol if i was a member of the real sas i mite understand these tactics, but as it is a i dont, tbh the best tactics are the most simple ones. The most important part of tactics is that everyone follows them and that everyone, knows wot everyone else's job is. The best way to do this is have a few practise sessions and then play some matches, doesn't matter if we get beat just that everyone has followed the tactics.
