    Building new PC

Ok, i know everyone makes these posts so i am joining in. I am looking to buy a new comp soon, and yes i am building it my self. I am on a bit of a budget, so i am looking for a cheap, good gaming PC, i dont want a immense one, but a good one would be, well good.

Budget probably 400-700 Cheaper the better though.

If any one could spec me one up, that would be great, i dont need a OS, or a monitor, keyboard or mouse.

Oh, if you can get a good comp for less than 400, then great, but i doubt you can.

    Thanks

£400-£700? Large budget range then lol.

You should get a v good one due to no OS or Peripherals.

Would be perfect for you, and I think I remember you said you had a small monitor so it would run pretty much everything on max settings.

Phantom - Eugh, P4 Dual Core. Also, single slot 4850s are known to overheat.

To quickly mention - Pentium D isnt worth looking at comapred to teh core 2 tbh, and ive built a pc with 2 single slot 4850s in crossfire before, and chirs has a single 1 and neitehr have ever had a problem. If you did u can tweak the fan anyway by downlaoding something to fix that.

This doesnt include a processor as you may have noticed.

I have a Core 2 Duo (wolfdale) E8500 - 3.16GHZ 1333FSB thats been spare for about 9 months now and was only ever used for less than a week. I'd sell it for £100 including the standard fan, which is required for warranty. It has over 2 years warranty left on it and was originally purchased from OCUK and i can get you proof of purchase too.

    - It was only purchased as I thought my Quad Core had died, but it turned out it was my old motherboard that had, and as such it hasnt been used since.

To sum up this pc would have:

    4850 512MB DDR3
    500GB Hard Disk
    4GB DDR2 800MHZ ram
    Core 2 Duo (wolfdale) E8500 @ 3.16GHz 1333FSB
    Quite nice case
    Fast DVD-Burner

And would cost in total about £415 with next day delivery on everthing.

I'd go with what Mitch said. I made a mistake with the Pentium D, was just trying to keep it as close to £400 as possible.

    Re: Building new PC

Was thinking about something like that a while ago, sort of like an ATK System Guides Section.

When I've got a bit more time I'll make a sticky in the forum and keep it updated with specs that people PM me with.
