You cant just buy them out of standard sequence format. like u cud get L333 TBH but not L337 because 337 isnt consecutive. (try an online registration site you'll see what i mean)

If you ring up the DVLA personalised reg department they will tell you that random plates (like that) if not currently assigned go up for auction online. I had to wait about 2 years for that to come up and it was 1 of 3 requests I asked for - but theyll email you when it does.

The plate was £280, then the registration fee is £80, then theres some other wierd charge, then special tax, then VAT - came to about £480
