295 will be the best, or if you have to go ATI, then a 4870X2, but a GTX295 will win out of the 2.

With new games though, 2 Gcards shouldn't cause too much of a problem, other than possibly not having enough PSU connectors on a crappy PSU, but adaptors can solve that problem, although it will look a bit messy.
