Okai, both in the name of activity, and just a personal list, and so you guys can give any tips, here's my planned rig.

Mobo - Asus P5Q Pro
CPU - Intel Core 2 Q6700
RAM - 4GB Corsair XMS2 DHX
GPU - Radeon HD4890
DVD Drive - Generic one I'll buy from a tip or something
Hard Drive - Western Digital Caviar Blue 640GB ~(Possibly a 1TB)~
Case - Silverstone PS02B Precision Black Mid Tower Case w/o PSU
PSU - OCZ StealthXStream 600W

Came to (In August) £595~. Probably Much cheaper by Xmas is my guess, I may even get better stuff by then. =D

New ATI cards will be out next week and the 48xx series will go EOL.

New ATI cards are set to be awesome though, plus the nVidia cards will be forced down in price.



Rest seems solid, <3 to the Q6700, you planning on OCing?

Nothing would make Nvidia lower their prices. Theyre money grabbing twats.

Or stay with the one I've chosen, which will just become rather cheap and get the Intel Core 2 Q9550?

(And I'm not planning on OCing until I'm more confident with what I've got, don't run 'till you can walk hm.)

True, but they are screwed in the next generation against ATI so they need to do something (probably rebrand GT200 series and sell it at a premium).

@ VH, good build but maybe wait for the 5xxx series to come out and see if there's anything good there. Also, that case is UGLY!

you dont seem yo have noticed. ATi cards, for the last many years....

9800, x800, x1800, HD 2900, HD 3870, HD 4890 .....

MAYBE THE NEXT CARD WITH START WITH A 5 AND HAVE 3 MORE DIGITS. FOOL.

EDIT: Also theres one other thing ive noticed on the original post that has the potential to show your epic noobage when you do get this computer - But im not going to tell you what it is too watch you fail.

ATI are releasing the next generation of GPUs in the next few weeks, called the 5xxx series (5850, 5870 if it's like the 4xxx series).

It's their under £1000 Rig,so it's not the greatest PC in the world, it also includes monitor, mouse, keyboard and headset.
