I'm not fussed, just pre-ordered on PS3 since my PC is epic fail ATM and I'm still waiting on nVidia and Intel to get their act together.

You're making a massive deal out of this. It's the same as BF2, ranked servers can only be bought from specific server hosts to prevent cheating (making servers that rank you up etc). I never played on unranked servers so it doesn't bother me.

Unless I'm mistaken, I thought you could still host servers with other hosts but they just wouldn't be ranked servers.

Yeh dice are only giving the ability to host to certain hosting companies to stop cheating

To be honest, anything that stops cheating is good in my book. Although I can imagine that these ranked server files will be leaked eventually.

Even if they were you couldn't host a ranked server with an unverified host.

Are you all missing the main problem? No Mods?

What made BF2 so great, in my opinion it was things like Project Reality and player balanced stuff =/


(And afaik, unranked servers will not be available either)

EDIT: Also on mod support, I don't think anyone expects BC2 to be a massive mod platform. Battlefield 3 will be hopefully.

Yeah BC2 was a console port, hopefully BF3 will be the true successor.

Uh, it's in the subscriber forward-edition, but it's in those mini-news bits on the right side of the 2 page spread if you know what I mean, cba to find the mag

Hopefully this is just the base for BF3 and hopefully this will wake IW up and force them to make a decent game like CoD4

So is anyone else up for a session of BC2 together at some point? We must have at least 4 people in the beta who are willing to play it with other members of ATK. It isn't a great game but I reckon with a group of us working together it'll be a fun time.

Or you know, we could just be a gaming community that games but fails on the community bit.

The key was given to ez64 then Target. As ez64 said he didn't actually have time to play it, he graciously said we could give it to someone else. Target's seemed like he wanted to play it the most .

Unfortunately, the key seems to have already been used. I certainly haven't used it, and ez64 said he hasn't either, so I've just assumed that Play cocked up and gave me the same code as someone else. I've requested another one and they will hopefully be giving me a new one tomorrow for Target to use!!
