Surely that's down to opinion and the whole point of a democracy.

And it is also the premise and creation point of brackets in the first place. If someone in the poll gets beaten, then they obviously are not the 'most desirable' to the community. Obviously, everyone will have their own opinion as to who should win each matchup, and thus will have their own bracket for the competition (e.g I posted a personal preliminary prediction bracket before this started), but as it is a community poll series, the majority opinion will win through, and thus, the true winner will emerge. In this case of the nominations who don't progress through the bracket, because it means they are not the most desirable overall, that's not to say that they are the least desirable compared to others who didn't win the competition (For example, I can't imagine that if I rejumbled the matchups that Jen Ledger would beat Cheryl Cole in a community vote). For a league table effect, you would need multiple brackets and then replace the winner of each one with a new competitor and re-run it through.

See: Bracketology and the book 'The Final Four of Everything' (Just ordered it from Amazon, looks like an interesting read.)

Bit more of a logical and intellectual discussion post for most babe polls on the internet, but this is one being run by me, so what did you expect ;D
