Important: Being a BC2 Admin

This thread is for those of you that have contributed, and are admins on our Battlefield Bad Company 2 server.

PLEASE NOTE: Both the game and admin tool are VERY buggy, so please be careful! See the current known bc2 issues here.

Admin Guidelines [subject to change]:

1. NEVER share the admin password.
2. Make sure your presence is known by wearing the "ATK" tag.
3. Always warn before taking any action. Just kick wherever possible.
4. If you think someone is cheating, please be SURE before making a ban. Ask others.
5. Swearing is allowed in chat (the game is an 18, and is full of it).
6. Offensive and racist comments are not tolerated - kick first, if they come back - ban.
7. Do not spam the public, but do make sure they know where our site is.
8. Don't screw around with admin for "fun", it's a tool to help make the server BETTER.
9. You may kick someone so you can join the server. Kick the people that have just joined and have a low score.

To start administrating the server (written using BC2CC0.9.5):

1. Download BC2CC here.
2. Make sure the program is up-to-date.
3. Click the bottom left icon "Add Server", entering the following details:
   Server Name: ATKCommunity.com Server
   IP: 85.236.102.5
   Command Port: 20277
   Password: ***YOU WILL BE SENT THIS IN A PM***
4. Click "Add", then double click the server name to connect to it.
   
   
   
   
5. Players: Here you can see the current players, and make messages appear in the MIDDLE of the screen using admin chat (YELL). Only advertise our site using this, ATKCommunity.com.
6. To kick/ban a player, just right click their name.
   
   
   
   
   
7. Server Options: Do NOT change anything here, I will do it in the server cfgs.
   
   
   
   
   
8. Map Options: Please leave the server on RUSH because of the server name.
9. The current map feature works, but the "next map" function is bugged still (loads a random map).
   
   
   
   
   
10. Game Options: Please refrain from changing settings here. If you do, make sure the server is empty and they are reverted back when you leave.
    
    
    
    
    
11. Reserved Players: Although we will use this eventually, at the moment it removes slots from the server to reserve them for you. This is a waste.
    
    
    
    
    
12. Banlist: View current bans, and add specific ones.

If you want me to help administer for anyone without admin when im here i dont mind.

I wont be getting the game anytime soon unless i actually have a chance to give it a play and decide i do like it - as such its not of benefit to me to have admin, just thought it might make it a little easier to help out.

EDIT:

Right now the server is on a map that i doubt exists - levels/m002 doesnt sound like what should be displayed there

IMPORTANT UPDATE
The admin chat flashes up in the MIDDLE of the screen for about 10 seconds!! It's exactly like the "Push harder.." text etc. As a result of this, ONLY use it to occasionally advertise our website - ATKCommunity.com.

All the maps are actually labelled that way, which is a little strange. Thanks for your offer as well, I'll bear that in mind.

IMPORTANT:
All BC2 admins need to update to the latest version of BC2CC. The old version no longer works, and the new version is superior with lots of new features and way less bugs.
