    Post Modern Warfare 2 [ Map Packs ] [ Second Confirmed ]

Activision is once again trying to money grab. Another map pack on the way, in which Xbox is likely to recieve a month before PC/PS3.

Activision announces the second map pack for Modern Warfare 2. This on is called 'Resurgence Pack'. It will feature five maps and not one but two Double XP weekends. First one starts Friday, May 28, and the second on Friday, June . I am guessing that the PC and PS3 will get it a month later.

There are no details on what the maps are yet. So standby here for the updates.

Activision almost has it right. It's nice when a developer seems to want to keep a game going with new content. So many games seem to just be left by the wayside.

HOWEVER, charging over £10 for a map that you could probably play in the last Call of Duty seems stupid. By all means, charge £5 if you want and then everyone would buy it.

The problem is that everyone still buys it at £10+, so Activision has no reason to think it's wrong.

And welcome back to the form k, dfntyy!

From a money making perspective, Activision have it bang on. They can make 3 new maps and charge £15 for them, half the price of the whole game, and the majority of player will buy. You can't really blame them. I just feel sorry for the kids who feel like they have to spend £15 on three new maps just to have the latest thing.

For £1.60 for Just Cause 2 you can buy:

    - A set of rocket thrusters for your parachute, allowing it move forwards easier.
    - A new plane that adds guns and stuff, the other plane didn't have these features.
    - A multi-lock rocket launcher that fires four rockets at once and tracks targets.

None of these things are needed for the game, they're just fun asides that let you be creative in different ways.

The new maps ARE needed however, because otherwise you can't join a lot of the games and are going to have a frustrating experience. £15 for a few new maps is just absurd. DLC should never be central but just separate new things to play with. Fallout 3 fucked up execution but their DLC model was bang on. (Aside from Mothership Zeta and (maybe) Operation Anchorage, since the game wasn't praised for it's thrilling combat...).

But yeah, I spent a good 7-8 hours playing with those toys from Just Cause 2, and for a mere £1.60!

Lol they don't even make new maps just use cod4 maps with some extra bits :s And with black ops out in Nov its seems really pointless to buy these maps and having to pay for them is retarded, there not even that hard to make, prob have a group of interns sat there making them :P
