    Minecraft + Physics = ......

    In a word, awesome.

So Chris Delay at Introversion Software (company behind Uplink, Darwinia and DEFCON) decided to create a tech demo one afternoon combining a Minecraft-style game engine with the Bullet Physics system and this was the result.

It's worth noting that he did this in a couple hours, so obviously some of the physics are not realistic or properly coded, but it does make you wonder, could engines like Frostbite integrate this in the future with the might of EA and hundred's of coders behind them? The results could be incredible.

Yeh you should have watched the B3 vid i linked yesterday, the destruction is incredible, like 100% better than BC2, mainly because its not a shitty console port

If you watched the latest EA vid behind the scenes of BF3, you'd see that they'd added a new physics engine from FIFA which looks fucking lush. This just looks fail.

This took one man 4 hours. Like the new B3, imagine this as a single group of particles, where you have millions of these blocks being interactable and destructable at high resolutions haing been properly coded for a lot longer by a bigger staff - esp. with a more realistic physics engine.

I think this is probably exactly how the BF3 current destruction system works. Except, they've only designated it to happen in very specific places.

Who really wants a whole building to be destructible if it's part of the storyline or a big set piece.

It has become vaporware. I'll make my own pretty soon despite having no footage and not being there.

First one to be released gets official ATK i40 vid status Chalex?
