Saw this in the news ticker, and tbh after listening to it... Isn't what he's just said plain old fibre-optics?

Not really marketed for the internet but fibre optics uses one type of light, this uses multiple light sources to transfer data over one medium air.

I dont know if they can rework this for fibre cable but at the moment its marketed for places that dont want to use radio communication and cannot run expensive cabling like hospitals.

But surely "lifi" has the issue that it can't go through fucking walls? But it could be good for hospitals as it's not using radio frequencies.
