    Graphics cards

    Hey all,

Been reading reviews on the 6950 and crossfire with them seems the way to go. As xmas is coming up I will be buying one now and another in Jan.

Thing is though the 560's are £160 in 1gb form and the 6950's are £220 in 2gb form and the performance seems the same (dont know what the overclock limits are though). I know the memory doesn't make much difference I just want the future proofing there.

These will be OC'd and watercooled on a 120.3 rad for the two cards.

Anyone got any recommendations or insights as to what I should buy?

Also know any decent cases for dual 120.3 or a 120.3 and 120.2 radiator? (I dont want to lug my mountain mods to lans anymore) (I think im going to have to go for a microatx chassis for the twin radiators as a separate box and have the quick release couplings)

erm i would personnally say wait for the new 7000 series which some leaked slides say are coming out q1 next year and 120m rad for 2 cards? i would advise against that imo
    marshy fails, that is all.

I love my 560Ti, plays everything well, even with only one card. I don't know how memory works with cards in SLI/Crossfire, if you have 2x1GB cards I think it only counts as 1GB, not 2GB, in which case it's probably better to get 2GB for future proofing. With only 1 GB I have to put textures on high not ultra or I get stuttering.

    Hazro 24" | Logitech Illuminated | G500 | Creative 2.0 | Nikon D3100

Indeed it would only count as 1gb due to the fact SLI mainly uses alternate frame rendering
    marshy fails, that is all.

Will look into the new series and may wait then until I buy a higher end graphics card and just get a 560 as a inbetween card. The water cooling for two cards would be a 120.3 radiator so three 120mm fan size.

Same was looking at both these, dunno if its worth the extra money for the 6950 or just get 560 and get a 2gb card when required?

Generally the rule is if your at 1920x**** or lower then 2 570 in SLI I think are the way to go. For resolutions above that then 2 6950 2GB are better ATM, but as Ki said, new cards should be just around the corner.

also at 1920x1080, 1gb superclock cards are faster then the 2gb cards, and usually cheaper too, just thought i would voice up in case your buying one before the new cards which i would advise against

There is nothing but concoction which gives the concept to graphic cards. For high definition visual effect results, graphic cards tend to provide good calculation. It is also known as 'video card'.
