Okay, time for your next update:
First I'll show you the screenshot and then I'll tell you the changes.
Okay so, number 1 - the announcement ticker. This is going to be changed to one which looks more fluid - picture the full size of the element and little buttons at the bottom to change between news - more updates soon.
Number 2: The new Get involved section - Lets you know whats changed at a glance and allows easy posting of new threads - click it and it asks which forum you want. If you click on "new post" you are taken to a list of all threads with new activity. The forums are going to be getting symbols to represent them soon, which we are waiting for to release this.
Number 3: The one you've all been waiting for - the Live Streams box - courtesy of Calneon.
We aren't settled on the styling yet and it may be changed slightly before its released but you can see significant progress
Also note the new order of the elements on the right - we felt this made the site look less "random" in regards to elements being everywhere.
Also the background colour has been changed - this makes the small space under the header before the rest of the site more obvious, and we believe looks less bland on some monitors (as the current grey looks very different on some screens).
Also we are going to try and unify the styling for the whole site - right now various different elements have different colour schemes, gradients and fonts. This is going to be standardized to make the site look more professional.
With regards to chris's post - We are hoping to create an element that can grab gaming news, and give people the option to "discuss" this. For example if a news article is written on a big site about a LoL final, it would grab this, add it to the "ticker" and if you press discuss a thread is opened where the first post contains the article. Obviously this could use articles written by ATK members too and would give more of a chance for people to discuss others work
Thats about all for now, but even typing this changes are being made - watch the site for new features over the coming weeks
