Forums seemed a little dead and wanted to prove I'm still alive!
So my PC was getting on a little bit and it was kinda struggling when editing and exporting RAW files from a large shoot (RAW from the 5DMk2 is around 25.5MB per image file, so on a shoot of ~300 images it all adds up).
Was starting to look a little dusty and sorry for itself too.

Old spec:
Intel Q6700 (OC'd to 3.6Ghz)
Asus P5Q Deluxe
4GB RAM
These popped up on the OCUK Members Market for cheapish and I fancied treating myself so thought screw it might as well, not a big upgrade but all I could really justify spending tbh.

It was at this point that I realized I didn't have a screwdriver, so after a quick trip to get one, I could start de-constructing the Q6700 set up, and rebuilding the i920 set up.
Getting a lot of the guts out:

Everything out just before the case got a full hoover including all dust filters:

At this point, my mate who was helping me had this arrive so he very quickly lost interest lol:

Started to get all the core parts together outside the case and had some issues fitting the CPU cooler, it looked like the socket itself was blocking the cooler from touching the IHS on the CPU (wasn't disrupting the TIM that was in place) but I thought fuck it, clamp it down and hope all was good.

Getting it all put back into the case after cleaning everything, definitely a big improvement over all the dust that used to be in there.

And that's pretty much where I stopped with the pictures, was too busy getting it all up and going again and messing about in the BIOS.
Got it sitting at 3.8Ghz quite happily although rather hot (100C load) and the only thing keeping me back from higher speeds is temperature atm, so within the next 2 weeks the TRUE is going to be sold and replaced with something more up to date, any recommendations for air/compact water systems?
