And since I had ten minutes spare time, I thought of a couple of ways we could do a Crusade this way:
- Yeah, simple knockout, play a match, win go through, lose, you suck and fail. Winner is the only guy/team who doesn't suck and fail.
- A ladder, 2 points for winning, 1 point for losing (or whatever) play a match, win, get extra points after all the teams have played eachother, the team with the most points wins. Perhaps have games with more than two teams and it goes like, 4 points for top, 3 points for second, 2 points for third, 1 point for losing as an example.
- Another complicated system! Pick a few maps and these can be captured, by playing and winning a game on them.
So each team 'conquers' the planets and all that, but rather than picking another side to attack we go on a rotation, so Team Awesomesauce fights Fatty Club, then Hat Brigade then Rubber Ducks and then Fatty Club again and it repeats.. (using the example of those four teams, likewise Fatty Club would fight TA, RD then HB, and Hat Brigade fights RD then FC then TA... etc etc...). Make it fair that you attack one time and defend the other when fighting another team, so TA attacks all the time the first round, then is defending all of the next round and it repeats (obviously it would probably be something like 2 attacks and defends a round with four teams to be fair...).
- Or a middleground between that and the point system. Pick a map when fighting another team win/lose and the result is posted for that map, gain say 5 victories on a planet and it's 'locked off' and no one can play there anymore, but that team 'owns' it and gets points for owning it, when all the planets are gobbled up count up the points, whoever has the most wins.
Phew... those idea's were much simpler in my head, it's 11:25 now so i'm talking gibberish, thats why it all sounds odd and crazy, enjoy.
