Moderator Updates

Due to the recent issue regarding Hutch spamming our own Teamspeak server, we have come to the decision of removing Hutch's moderator until it is seen fit for him to have it back. As a result of this, I have decided to review the moderator positions and have awarded Bloo a moderator position.

CONGRATULATIONS! He has been an active member in the Community for a long time and I do not see him as the type to abuse his new position.

If there are other moderator positions available, I will let you guys know (yes, I do know you want moderator Oric).

Well done Bloo, now you just need to work out how to use it.

In terms of giving moderator to more people, I think that you of course will have to be a subscriber, but I also think we shouldn't have more than three moderators at the moment. We should see it as having a moderator per a certain number of people, I can remember back to BRS when too many people had admin on TS, etc. and it just got confusing.

Following the discussion today during Lunchtime and After-School, it felt as if my comment was inevitable. As you know, I was on TeamSpeak when the incident happened, and when you see names such as 'ORIC-FUCKS-CATS' and 'oric-sucks-chalex-cock', you generally believe that it's someone outside the community with a grudge, with which I can name several. But when I found out Hutch was to blame, it was a completely different reaction.

It's hardly a secret that Hutch and I hate each other, which may or may not have factored into my opinion for what I believe should have done, that is your choice. But, in my view, the actions I felt needed to be taken have been decided on the fact that someone who has power and 'respect', as well as one of the founding members of the clan that became ATK, British Rogue Squadron (please bear in mind, I was also a founding member.)

I felt that Hutch deserved an outright removal of admin from all ATK servers and forum, as well as at minimum a several week ban, if not serving across several months, if not a permanent one. Now, I am sure this view is not very popular and I will receive hate mail, but let me explain, why I believe this.

Firstly, I believe Hutch has done too much in the past not to have a more severe punishment. Again, I know I am not completely innocent in this field also, but as far as I know, he has had several sanctions such as admin removal and moderator removal in the past, when we have been in the form of ATK. When someone then simply cockslaps your face and goes 'Hai Spam Timez' with that record, and has the nerve to insult actual members of the community, then I believe that it warrants a more severe punishment.

Secondly, I believe that when you give someone power, they must show that they are at least capable of keeping a good reputation and standing within the community. Now, again, I am not exactly the best person to say this, due to the recent WoW Threads discussion of a few weeks ago, and I can be a bit outspoken and opinionated at times. However, Hutch has come onto TeamSpeak on several occasions, as if he is purposefully trying to cause an argument or fight with other members, or between them. I do not believe that this is a way for someone with power to behave.

Thirdly, in the past, we have experienced spammers who have done the silly thing of spamming the server with 50 users, so it is easy to ban. However, Hutch programmed the hack to come on and log off instantly, then log on again. This meant it was very difficult to ban him, since it meant manually clicking on his name during the 0.2 seconds he was on the server, taking the IP from the user information and manually adding it to the banlist. This was difficult for two reasons. One, you must get it quickly, or it will take a while. Two, when the attack began, all of the people on TeamSpeak were not SA's, meaning we had to sit there for absolutely ages waiting for an SA (in this case, VoX) to come on, whilst enduring the annoying sound of the rapid leave joining. Yes, turning off sounds will solve it, but for some people, actually knowing when people join is quite a nice thing.

Fourthly, related to the above, we have fully banned people from the community for this exact exploit, and in some cases, less.

Finally, he had the audacity to lie about it to high-ranking community members, and when he finally admitted to doing it, he had the nerve to say that it was a 'test' for someone elses server. Two things are wrong with that. One, if it was a test, why did he use names that defaced two members of the community (one of which being the leader). And two, why would you test it anyway? Using it on other people's TS shows that you are willing to stir shit up and potentially create a 'retaliatory attack' on our TS by the targets, and makes the community look bad in the eyes of other clans, potentially damaging the image of the community and losing us membership, in the form of those potentially joining or those already in the community, ashamed to be associated with this 'illegal' activity.

In conclusion, I believe that I have presented enough reasons in order to persuade the community to see my point of view and push for a more severe punishment against Charles. However, it must be said I appreciate that Chalex has decided to act against Charles, and thank him for his relatively quick response and decision. I would also like to thank him, Chazlene and Bloo for using their lunchtime today with me, and discussing this issue and possible solutions to it.

However, please justify calling the spamming "illegal", you will find it hard to find a legal precedent as no physical or data damage has been caused. The possesion of the programs is not illegal.

Here's a punishment for me that you can give: Make me rape your fat arse. (Clean that up as your first task as moderator Bloo)

I would like to push for a severe punishment against you, but because you being a cunt isn't quite a valid reason, I'll say this: Abuse of the WOW forum, was almost totalitarian, purposefully trying to start an arguement yourself.
I really doubt you will get moderator anyway seeing as you do abuse power alot and you haven't actually "given" anything to this community apart from having my Moderator "taken" away, which I was actually given in the first place because I gave money to pay for the Vbulletin license, which you refused to do. Also my loss of moderator is nothing to do with Teamspeak, so why should it be gotten rid of, my Teamspeak misdemeanour was not even Admin related. I don't even have admin on TS.

In conclusion: You are fucked, seeing as I was the one who probably did most of the general moderating and cleaning up of peoples link dodgy posts and rarely deleting things.

Now I'm going to say this as a joke to end on a light note:

To be honest Hutch, every time you argue back when you are obviously in the wrong, the day of you getting your moderator back gets pushed further and further away and at this rate the day may never arrive.

I also do not appreciate your comments towards Oricalcos or the rest of the Community, even if they are meant to be a *joke*. You are making it seem like you should never be trusted with admin, and I would never be willing to give power to a person who writes a reply just like you have.

Whether you believe it or not, your spamming of our Teamspeak server was against the rules of the Community which classes it as illegal here. I suggest you stop digging yourself into an ever-deepening hole, especially because I am still trusting you with admin on some servers, unless you want that to be taken away as well?

Well the way everyone is presenting themselves, if Oric had admin, the community wouldn't have anyone in it: Remember in BRS when he was given SA and instantaneously banned everyone.

This is just a spiteful jab at me, which is thinly veiled. Oric has obviously leapt on the excuse he has been given to have a go at me. I think you should look at the motive for him accusing me rather than listening to him.
