Now this isn't a new mod, seeing as I was playing versions 0.5 and 0.6 last year and the year before last. As you can tell, its a reality mod, which doesn't just change everyone's health to 1hp and limit their ammo.
Lots of new maps including Al Basrah and Fallujah, and a PROPER British faction, including SA80s galore. The maps and models are well made.
The way vehicle play and kits are sorted out is a little complicated, but it means that most classes are a variation on the standard rifleman, and then there are a few specialist classes like sniper and marksman and pilot/crewman which you need to request. Only Pilots can fly and crewmen drive (you can still be a passenger).. only Pilots have the parachute, which are nigh on useless unless you are 30 seconds of free fall high.
Battles in Project reality arent your standard, RUN IN OMG BANG BANG HEADSHOT affair. Oh no, they rely on team work, keeping your head down and using supressing fire. Of course being a reality mod there is no hud. Set pieces that can occur naturally include roadside ambushes set up by squads. Squad play is alot more integeral than the standard: follow chalex and spawn on him affair, instead he has to place the squads spawn area! Capture the flag requires more than one man on a flag, and they have to be captured in a set order, preventing noobs from back rushing, and allowing small servers greater gameplay. The game rolls slower but feels much much cooler. Artillery is out of the game, as is UAV.
When you die your respawn timer increases, so thats one reason to try to stay alive!
For Bloo, there is an insurgency mode, including a civillian class who can only throw rocks, molotov cocktails, and SUICIDE VEHICLES!
There is a fuckload more to explain, so you'd need to play it.
IF YOU OWN BF2 DL THIS MOD NOW! (you need 1.41 patch and 0.75 client and then a 1GB map pack afterwards lol) Its huge but very pretty and lots has been changed, plenty of full servers as well!
