Re: ATK Benchmark Competition
Yeah. Fuck nVidifail after bum rimming us for 6 months, only to be forced to give us a release date when 500 FB fans basically said screw you in about half an hour.
I'll put the final spec up on my blog in a sec (http://addendaprovided.blogspot.com/).

Turns out I didn't have PhysX turned on. Much better now :). What clock was your GTX280 when you did yours VoX?

Re: ATK Benchmark Competition
@ u two guys (phantom and vox) How come i get 1.5k more GPU points than you with my cheaper ATi card ;)
Re: ATK Benchmark Competition
Hm, I don't think I could work that out Piers. Perhaps we should look at the manufacturers?

Indeed, PhysX ftw.
Was at 285 clocks there (648/1476/1159) was getting Driver errors if I pushed any further (pretty sure it was the core causing me probs) and I was starting to get temperature limited (85C or so, was still rising and I pussied out haha) as well as voltage I guess.
When I get spare time again I'll give the whole clocking a go again, hell I got 3.2Ghz on stock volts and it only took 1.38v to get 3.5Ghz, I reckon I could hit 4Ghz temperature permitting (Should be alright in that respect with the TRUE :p)
Mitch, not sure but I have a niggling feeling that 3DMark is ever so slightly biased one way, although iirc it was towards ATI..?
You sure Crossfire is enabled and the clocks aren't throttling? an X2 should beat a GTX280 by a 100-1000 points or so.
Re: ATK Benchmark Competition
Just turned Catalyst Contol centre off force performace mode (16x AA etc) so 3d mark can run at standard settings instead and got these results....
still nothing overclocked at all..

Well, now im beating your gfx by a good bit more than that still without any overclocking ;)
Im gunna have to see how much differecne overclocking my processor does....
DAMN YOU ORIC LOOK WHAT YOUVE DONE......

Re: ATK Benchmark Competition
HAHAHAHHAHA I knew this would happen you just can't help but wanting to fiddle with your pc even when its not try to kill itself for once XD
Re: ATK Benchmark Competition
Looks like i've unleashed the beast :D
Re: ATK Benchmark Competition
Got fed up before i got any imporvement stable.
CBA with overclocking takes so long for pc to start up lol.
Also - note how the stock 4870x2 provides borderline playable framerates in those tests whereas the nvidia £lol cards just cant cut the mustard ;)

im sure when u got your 280s they were more expensive than a 4870x2 :P
Also the difference between an i7 920 and Core 2 E8500 in cpu tests is lol....
